Water/Condensaton in Headlamp

I have a 13 limited and my passenger side HID blew out. In trying to do my homework and decide what I wanted to do LEDs, Upgraded Bulb etc, I started to notice condensation inside of the lamp and now it looks like a shot glass of water is in the corner at times. My question is since I don't drive the truck much is this building up from a lack of heat in the lamp since the HID blew or is it more than likely a leak? Also I was curious if anyone had bought an aftermarket lamp wHID and if so where from if they are happy with it. The ones from the dealer cost a fortune but I'll go there if necessary. I don't want to have to take the bumper off twice.

Thanks

That's a lot of water. I don't think that's just from a lack of heat. I'd say something is not sealed right.

Re: Water/Condensaton in Headlamp

yeah I'm pretty sure there is a leak somewhere also. I really was trying to see if anyone got a good aftermarket replacement. While resealing this unit and getting a replacement bulb is an option I am more than likely going to go with a replacement lamp with bulbs. I don't want to seal the unit to have it leak again and keep having to snatch off the grill and bumper.

Oh and on a side not I like those Rims

Re: Water/Condensaton in Headlamp

That is definitely a leak,

The leak my have also caused the bulb to go out since the components in the lamp are at the bottom. The connections inside the headlight are not that water resistant.

My guess is that you leak is on the outside corner in line with the fender. So rain or dew or whatever is leaking into the lights.

I sometimes get condensation in my headlight but it will go away. If is get condensation it because its raing heavily and I was driving in the rain.

At one point I had a leak an I would get condenation if it rained and the vehicle was just sitting parked. Funny thing was I never happen when I washed the vehicle.

Re: Water/Condensaton in Headlamp

Thanks everyone here's the verdict. I removed the headlight and when I poured out the water in the lamp it was nearly 3/4 of a water glass. I got a replacement unit and a new bulb for the other side and now my baby can play after dark again
