WEATHERTECH ISSUE - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee (7/30/2015 or LATER)

Has anyone had issues buying WeatherTech floor mats for a WK2 that was manufactured AFTER 7/30/2015?

I'm located in Chicago and I went to their factory store in Bolingbrook, IL to buy floor mats for my new jeep and was unable to purchase them. The lady told me that since my Jeep was manufactured after July 30th that it had a different floor layout than any that were manufactured before July 30th. Anyone else had this issue yet? Do we know if the pre-July 30th style will still fit? I looked on their website and it says the same thing, as well as not having an option for a 2016 Grand Cherokee.

Normally it wouldn't be an issue and I'd just wait it out until the correct floor mats are in production, but with living in Chicago and it being a brand new Jeep I'd really like to keep the interior new throughout the Chicago winter (although it's been very mild so far).

Any help / advice would be great!

Word on the street is Jeep changed the front passenger compartment so they will not work. WeatherTech is working on making a new version for us with WK2's make after July. I am with you and will be waiting. If you are unable to wait, I hear the Husky liners still fit...

Tinman - Thanks for the update! I've already got some universal ones for the driver's and passenger area that I had in my truck before I traded it in. For now those will get me through the winter, but I still figured I'd ask.

I'm in the same boat.. I would think a big company like WeatherTech would have the updated fitment within 5 months time. Has anyone gotten a ETA for when the redesigned matts might be available?

No kidding, especially since they have ones for the 2016 Cherokee, Compass, Patriot, Renegade, and Wrangler! You'd think they'd have Grand Cherokee ready first or shortly after Wrangler. Heck I'd even let them use mine to do the laser measuring haha

Do yourselves a favor and buy some Husky X-Act Contour instead.
You'll never look back. Better coverage and a non-slippery finish.

Well I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude, manufactured 10/15 and just got my WeatherTech and they seem to fit perfect. Not sure how they don't fit, if someone could point out what I don't see. See pictures posted.

Re: WEATHERTECH ISSUE - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee (7/30/2015 or LATER)

my opinion on weathertech? love the in channel window deflectors, but the slush mats are terrible. too stiff, decal always comes off and when they sent me the wrong set for my 2012 ram, they said it was the right one and then 6 months later they mysteriously added a part # that actually fit my truck. I bought the jeep (mopar) slush mats and have been very happy.
that type of stuff shuns me from usually doing business with these companies going forward... lucky they have the best window deflectors, because if they didn't, they would've been shunned...

I'm going to start looking into the husky liners. If the weather techs do not fit correctly, wouldn't the husky liners have fitment issues as well since the floor was redisigned?

No the Husky exact fit liners are made of a very flexible rubber like material that will lay flat & conform to the footwells very well, even if they are slightly different than previous years. Unlike the Weathertech liners which are made from a hard plastic like material with no give.

The Weathertech liners are also very slippery when wet, allow water to pass underneath to the carpeting thru the hook holes and tend to curl up on the edges as they age. The Husky liners will do none of those things.

Re: WEATHERTECH ISSUE - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee (7/30/2015 or LATER)

If there was a mid year change to the floor and the Weather Tech's don't fit correctly then my guess would be that the Husky's wouldn't fit correctly either.

Looking at the Husky site, they make no mention of any mid year difference.

That pisses me off... now I'm wondering if I'll be able to transfer the Husky's in my 14 to the 16 like I planned on doing.
