What color vinyl wrap?

I'm about to wrap some chrome away. My Jeep is Granite Crystal Metallic.

I will be wrapping the mirrors, the lower swoop thing in the lower front facia, door handles and window trim. I am thinking matte black, possibly gray. Thoughts?

Re: What color vinyl wrap?

I have the same one.. I'm planning my first change up in 2 weeks.. Planning on wrapping the chrome on the window trim the same black in the middle and wrapping the chrome on the roof rack.. Removing all the emblems and swapping the mesh grille for black...Tint and weathertech window visors for my exterior.. The rest of the chrome is staying until it's time to change rims and I set up for stage two muhahahaha.. I have the platinum package one so my chrome looks like aluminum alloy lol but my mirror caps are body color which is one less piece of chrome to do.. Not sure if I would wrap the bottom chrome so im really interested to see how it comes out.. Definitely am following the thread

Well I think that looks GREAT.

I also prefer less chrome (or none at all).

Re: What color vinyl wrap?

I'd opt for paint or OEM part swap.
You could either color match or add black accents.

I think the lower front facia in a gloss black would look great.

Interesting thought. I'm assuming all Summit parts that are chrome come that way and thus would require going to a different model for swap. Leaving me the only choice of painting my swoopy thing. It is about $200 to replace.

I do like the idea of swapping for the rest though.

Nice.. Me personally i feel its too solid one color but thats me. Heres my personal todo list:
the rings on the grille, fog lights, front bottom chrome piece, front jeep emblem, rear jeep emblem, rear tail light bezel black chrome.. Side skirts and rear bumper complete body color.. Rear bumper pad and mesh in grille black.. Chrome around the window and on roof rack wrapped black, front window tint, weathertech window visors and 22" srt rims in black chrome.. I own a 2015 platinum package summit.. These sre My future plans after i burn out these tires and let my pockets heal from the minor things i just bought and finish installing (Skid plates, front tow hooks, interior leds, srt pedals, window visors, weathertech matts, customtronix silver package, jeep trunk tote, jeep cd visors, 3k hids for foglights and rim locks) hopefully this will give you some ideas to go off of or maybe give you better ones

Re: What color vinyl wrap?

I also think gloss black would look great with the granite. I'm also going to suggest painting over vinyl wrap. I had all the chrome trim on my Max Steel Limited wrapped in gloss black and it looked great, for a while. The rings and lower fascia started to peel after a short time though. I guess just the combination of heat from the engine, wind and driving rain at highway speeds and the adhesive couldn't hold up. They re-wrapped my rings and used an adhesion promoter and they seem to be holding up fine now, but only time will tell. Having the Limited, I was able to swap in textured black parts from a Laredo for the fascia as well as the step pad surround in the back. Bottom line is, if I have to do anything over again, it will be painted.

After the wrap:

Re: What color vinyl wrap?

So my vinyl guy has me considering gloss black for all chrome parts. I started out thinking matte would be the way to go, but after deciding I want gloss for the window trim, it stands to reason I should keep all chrome parts the same color.

I'm just not sure how it would look on the mirrors and door handles.

Any advice? Thoughts?

There's only one way to find out.. The handles and mirrors i would like in body color but I don't know how black will look.. Interested in seeing everything else in black though..
