I don't mind the front end chrome, but the mirrors really bother me. Did you pop off the mirror caps to paint them? Easy as that?
I agree i hate these chrome mirrors most of all.

A shop in Dallas did the actual coating but I went through my local Discount Tire guy to arrange everything. He pulled the wheels and stored the Jeep on blocks in one of their bays for 2 days while they were being coated. He arranged drop off and pick up of the rims and then remounted and balanced when they were done - they even spray painted the balancing weights so they would match. Cost for all that was $135/tire with no taxes.

So they come pre painted? Do they just pop off easy or do you hzve to take a lot of crap apart? How much?

Yes, they are pre-painted. They are basically the Side Mirrors from a Laredo (which come color matched). They are expensive at about $300 total.

The "Caps" do require a bit of time & skill to replace but there is a good set of instructions written up complete with illustrations (search this site).

I was installing an HID fog light kit at the same time, so I pulled all the chrome pieces off and had them painted. They matched the paint perfectly! I could not be happier with the results.

I bought replacement mirrors for a Laredo that come in the same color as my Jeep.

This link should help. Has a link to a PDF showing how to remove the covers.
