Is this the only pedal kit available at the moment?

Heat gun method worked best for me. Buy them!

I really like mine. Makes the Jeep look sharp! My knuckles are still healing from the brake pedal cover

Re: What do you think of the pedal kit?

I do like the look of it but think maybe installing it would make the pedals too thick?

Not at all, as they replace the OEM rubber pedals, which I would guess are similar dimensions to the bright pedals.

I tossed the rubber ones out as the bright pedals not only look and feel good, but a buyer down the road would think the same. Get 'em.

Re: What do you think of the pedal kit?

After reading the installation hassles I replaced the stock pedals with some brushed aluminum and rubber pedals from the auto parts store. But eventually I replaced those with these Mopar pedals, and they look great. Be prepared to do battle with the brake pedal, but in the end you will like the results.

Re: What do you think of the pedal kit?

Well I got some today went to put gas pedal on first since it is suppose to be easy Well I pulled up on pedal to slip the gas cover on and the pedal broke off in my hand Thank god I was in the parking lot across the street from the jeep dealer ship as I had no gas pedal and let it coast in to the service dept . ( thank goodness for Saturday Service open ) . They all kind of laughed and was amazed to see this . Im not a strong guy at all so I have no idea how I could have done this . They said part will take a few days to come in because of the weekend .The abs plastic must of had a stress point for it to brake or There will be a recall coming very soon

Re: What do you think of the pedal kit?

Most of my DIY projects end with a call to a plumber or carpenter so If I could do this anyone on the forum can.
Here are my Easy Steps for getting the pedal kit installed.

Step 1. Take the instructions that come with the kit and throw them out. They are little more than a cartoon like the old Learn To Draw Sets. Draw Circle, Draw Triangle, Smudge Circle and Triangle, Mona Lisa. Yea right!. There is a picture of a bar of soap and a bucket. Most members thought this meant use hot soapy water. I washed my hands.

Step 2. Read thoroughly every post on this thread
http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php?t=15928
It is full of many good suggestions and techniques. You can pick one that you think may work. Avoid at all costs The Cut Thumb that one member reported.

Step 3. See picture 1. This is a Radio Shack screwdriver from their Electronics Kit. It is very small but is ideal, the head is very thin.
I started by draping the pedal over the top. The important thing is to work in very small increments. Maybe just a 1/4 of an inch or less at a time. It goes very quickly.
Some members used a heat gun or hair dryer. I did mine in May it was not very cold. Not sure if it is absolutely necessary.
My garage was 103 degrees last weekend . Use the hair dryer to cool your head.

Step 4. Picture 2. Have on hand a cold frosty or better yet a 6 pack or case. Call your friends and have them come over to admire your handiwork.
Step 5. Picture 3. Post your pictures on this forum for continued Applause.

Good luck.

Thanks for your opinions.
I have the pedal kit and love it. I get compliments all the time. They are high quality.

I also have the illuminated door sills and they look awesome too.

I went ahead and paid the dealership to install both...I'm handy but didn't want to fool with it and given the trouble people have had I'm glad.

Re: What do you think of the pedal kit?

My Car was in shop for only a few days the Service Advisor said the Gas pedal was defective that they noticed other hairline cracks once they removed what was left . I got the pedal kits installed they look great . A tip from the dealer i was given fro brake I cut the top of the brake cover at a 45 degree angle socked it in hot soupy water and took a small screw driver and worked the pedal cover over the brake from the bottom first then inserted the flathead screwdriver at top left corner and worked it very slowly to the right corner worked great only took me a few trys maybe 20 mins to install
