Re: What's the verdict on LED headlight bulbs vs. HID?

Some one needs to test try this. So far I bought a eBay hid kit by OPT7 with canbus built in. Plug and play no flicker. But I'd feel safer with LED if its as effective as hid.

I ordered and will report back. Company looked a little more reliable then some of the junk on there so will see. Specs all look good but i question if it will actually produce the 2400 lumens. Im not just looking for a color match but one that also throws usable light. If they dont produce they are going back. Will let you know once they come in.

I got the ones by txtlighting.com from a vendor on ebay. Most were shipping from out of contry but i found one on there shipping from usa so i should have this weekend. I dont have high hopes for the lumen output but they are more promissing then anything else i have seen so far. At least they are in a box made by a "company" and not some lose bubble wrap things in an envelope lol.

No problem I like to try out new stuff when there is a different design, plus they will just go back if they don't work no biggie. So LEDS came, first complaint is that they cheaped out on the H11 connector and just put two little pieces of metal that I guess you are supposed to stuff into the H11 connector on your jeep, leaving it all exposed over time to corrode not to mention it would be difficult to do in the space available in the jeep. not a big deal, I ordered an H11 connectors for $5 and will do it the right way. So if you order just look at the pictures on the ones you select a little closer than I did. Nice package other than that, also massive heat sink. will let you know once the connectors come and I get them installed and will give you my thoughts on this design. They are marketing it as a "headlight" not a fog or driving light so hopefully it throws the needed light. will see over the next few days.

Re: What's the verdict on LED headlight bulbs vs. HID?

Bought these for my 2014 GC fogs.. Should be picking it up in a few week.. I have installed them in my Prius for the meantime, and they look pretty bright, the colour of the light is also very nice, a white tone with a hint of blue.

So far they look brighter than the standard halogen bulbs, pictures are taken during the day so you can't get the full effect, I will however take some more pictures a little later on..
