That's what I'd ultimately want.

You'd think everyone would want their phone mounted atleast at air vent level so you don't have to take your eyes completely off the road (even if at a stop light)
It's not much different than looking at your NAV screen or adjusting your heat/air. Maybe you should have your QL knob moved to your steering wheel since looking over to adjust it would be foolish.

I actually think the center console cup holder makes more sense than blocking a vent.

Re: Where do you put your phone?

I don't understand why people have the phones where they can see them at all. Are you using them for navigation? I throw my 6+ in the driver door water bottle pocket along with my wallet and the smartkey. I use the bluetooth phone and music playback functions, so I never need to see or touch the phone. But I have factory navigation so I don't use the phone for that.....I have a power cord in the middle console but don't need it very often. I plug the phone in all night on the kitchen counter.

Agreed, with previous "lesser" vehicles my large smartphone was my navigation, music changing source, everything. But with the WK2 I might fire up the uConnect app on my phone, and drive off with it in my pocket or console. Never need to look at it with a giant 8.4" screen on these things!

I'm sure there are plenty of people in your area who use their phone for navigation.
Agreed, but I usually wear cargo pants, so my Galaxy is totally comfortable in the lower side pocket.

It's legal here to use a phone for navigation, but one cannot legally input data on the phone while behind the wheel. This qualifies as a moving violation, and the local authorities love to use this as a reason for a pretextual stop, when no other probable cause exists for a stop.

As the 8.4AN Nav is native, that's what I use for guidance. Bluetooth phone and voice text, for my purposes, negate any reason to use the phone while behind the wheel.

Re: Where do you put your phone?

Surprised at all the cup holder mounts. Mine is mounted just to the right of the instrument cluster so I can see it easier. use it for nav on a daily basis

Re: Where do you put your phone?

At one point, I got a cup holder mount for my Galaxy S5 because I worried it would be too big to comfortably keep in my pocket. It kind of was in my F150, but I barely notice it in the Jeep. I only had the mount in the Jeep about a week before I realized I wasn't using it.

Besides, keeping it in my pocket means I never leave it in the car.

If I do decide to pull the phone out, I just set it in the cup hold on its own since it's in a rubber case.

If I didn't put it there, I'd put it in the upper tray of the center console, which is exactly what it's for.

Since the big screen on the dash allows me to fully see what's going on with the phone, I have no need to be able to see it.
