Where do you put your phone?

Where is everyone docking their phone?

I use the same cup-holder cradle that I had in my BMW but, since the two holes are longitudinally placed, there isn't a good spot.

I prefer it in the front spot but my cup gets in the way. And in the rear spot, it's too far back for me to see it in my peripheral vision, without having to move my eyes and/or head.

Safety is the issue here.

So, let's see what you all do. 👍

Re: Where do you put your phone?

I believe there is a phone mount thread already but here's mine.
This pic is with my 6. I recently upgraded to a 6S+ and it still fits.

cup holder mount suits me best. I don't really like anything on my dashboard or vents.

I keep mine in my pocket. It is illegal here to use a handheld device while driving.

Re: Where do you put your phone?

I use a cup holder mount like the ones pictured. My one complaint with my JGC is that there isn't a good cubby to put the phone. My touareg had a little tray on the top of the dashboard that as perfect for placing a phone out of the way.

The cupholder mounts are nice, but kind of get in the way when you are actually trying to use the other cupholder. I don't care for vent mounts and don't really want to toss the phone in the center arm rest.

Re: Where do you put your phone?

I used to "need" to have my phone front and center on some sort of dash or vent mount. I don't really want to mount anything on the WK2 though and I use the cupholders. So, the phone stays in my pocket unless I need to charge it in the center console. Easy...

Re: Where do you put your phone?

I'm surprised to see so many people have dedicated phone holders. I just get in and either place mine in a cup holder or in the large center compartment where I also put my wallet.

Re: Where do you put your phone?

I use a clear back Iphone case and this magnetic mount.

The base sits high on the side air vent nearest the driver door. I slid the metal plate that comes with the mount in between the phone and the case. When not in use, the base doesnt obstruct any airflow. When the phone is mounted it blocks maybe 40%-50% of the airvent. Its by far the best solution ive used to keep the phone at eye level while be easy to mount/remove. Highly recommended

Not sure what that has to do with having a phone mount but having a large phone in my pocket while sitting is not comfortable.

I'm sure there are plenty of people in your area who use their phone for navigation.

Re: Where do you put your phone?

Why does everyone keep their phones so low? The cup holder or any mount below the radio seems foolish since you'll have to look down at your phone (and we all know you're looking at your phone at some point while you're driving).

You'd think everyone would want their phone mounted atleast at air vent level so you don't have to take your eyes completely off the road (even if at a stop light)
