Re: Which roof rack and surfboard carrier should I get?

Got the AeroBlades installed this morning. Parts left over--the 4 endcaps and the 8 hex bolts from the 460R Rapid Podium Foot Pack are not used when using the Podium Fit Kit 4019. They must be for other fit kits. Thule instructions are next to worthless...a friend of mine warned me about this last week. Ahh, but not to worry. I installed them with the help of my sister.

For a photo see the second post on this thread...just like mine.

Here's what came back from JustForJeeps in response to my inquiry about the removable racks mentioned above:

The Roof Rack clamps to the side rails. The clamps are opened and closed by turning the mounting bolts using the Torx tool that comes with the Rack kit. Set up or removal of the Roof Rack should only take a couple minutes.

That is the same method for removing/installing the Thule AeroBlades.
Also, I just got home frome a short trip...speed on the highway got to 75mph with no whistling. The AeroBlades are very quiet.

Does anyone have a good opinion on this?
I put Thule Aeroblades on my 2011 and they're perfect. No wind noise and they look slick - easy install too, if you're not a moron (which I am).

Re: Which roof rack and surfboard carrier should I get?

Many good options out there. I chose the OEM knock offs I found on Amazon. Great reviews, and I couldn't be happier with them. Took me about 20 minutes to install, strong, and look great (I wanted black for my rig). Thule and Yakima are great products, but for my money these do the job. And... quiet as a church mouse under any speed.

Are the MOPAR knockoffs easier to remove / put on? I am looking for racks I can put on and take off when I need them as I will only need them a few times a year.
