Re: Whiter fog lights

I think I know what you are referring to for the tabs. Are you talking about the wedge style LED replacement bulbs? I found that the OEM plugs have a tiny bump in the middle of where the new LED is supposed to sit that keeps it from being fully seated. Maybe people are referring to filing that nub off. I didn't though, mine seem angled, I had bent the tiny wires a bit so they would lock in better and worked well for me. seems like the thickness of the plastic is like a smidgen too small on the LED's and keeps them from being tight in there.

As for the Fog lights I included some pics. Notice the gap in the OEM bulb housing compared to my, already plugged-in, Putco bulb. This is what threw me in the install. Also I noticed while taking pics one of my tabs wasn't fully in. I fixed that, and remembered I didn't push the Putco's straight in, I angled one tab in first, the one that has the connector plugs tab under it, and then the bottom tab, you should hear a click, and it should be in...

Thanks for the pictures. The area I have circled below are the tabs that I had to file down...there is also 1 more 180° from these 2 that needs to be trimmed in order to fit the OEM socket. It looks like these tabs on the base are keeping your bulb from fully seating at the moment.

Re: Whiter fog lights

I see what you mean there. They seem to be snug in there to me, I will drive it a bit later on and see if it wiggled out or anything. It seems like that is the only tab that should need sanding down. I will try to do one side and see how well it seats in afterwards.

I've read on here that it is believed the HIDs are 4300K.

Any luck with these? I tried mine again this morning and they just do not lock in secure enough for me.

Re: Whiter fog lights

I should have listened... my bulb broke from the base and fell inside the lens. Oh, I'm so %$#%^#$%@.... No idea how to get it out, I can't get that trim panel off without breaking the rivets so it's very tight to work in there. I guess I'll finally buy the Summit grill and have the dealer install while removing my broken bulb.

Crawls back into hole....

Re: Whiter fog lights

^^That does it for me then. No more mods. The only one I did myself was the shark fin and the screw driver slipped and hit my paint, but the install went well otherwise.

I just met a black Overland a couple days ago and it was early in the morning and cloudy and foggy out. They had their HIDs and fogs on and all looked good. phew. I've even grown to like all of the chrome.

Re: Whiter fog lights

am i the only one that would prefer yellow halogen fogs instead? because yellow cuts through fog.
