Interesting and yeah I've known of the Escalade LED's just didn't know how effective they were.

I don't think so. One of us managed to file the tabs and get them in but they would fit lose.

I have to ask a silly question, since the bulbs are an issue, why couldn't you cut the 5202/h16 wierd connector and add like a 9006 connector and file the bulb down to fit the fog light housing?

I would imagine it's easier to trim the tabs lol. No point in doing extra work if you can rig it lol.

Re: Whiter fog lights

I've had Putco Jet yellow bulbs installed in my personal vehicle for well over a year with no issues. This is the first time that I have had anyone complain about the Jet yellow 5202 bulb not fitting properly. Did you try and contact Putco?

Steve

No, I have not as the PSX24W socket is not for a 5202. If you look at the side profile, the PSX24W tabs that lock the bulb in sit about .250" closer to the plane that sits against the OEM socket (in the Jeep's bumper) when compared to the 5202s. I think this is what is causing the 5202s to not sit tightly in the OEM socket, even after filing down the 3 tabs on the outer diameter of the plastic body. I'll try to post a picture later visualizing this explanation...here are some quick pictures to explain what I am talking about. The spacing between the tabs and bottom surface is much greater on the Putcos than the OEM bulbs...this is very evident when they are sitting side by side. I think this extra space is not allowing the Putco 5202 to snug up when clipped in. Again, just my observations.

OEM:

Re: Whiter fog lights

I see what you mean. Did you purchase the bulbs recently?

This is a rather popular seller and I have not had anyone complain with a fitment issue which is why I was surprised to see this.

Steve, I purchased them a few months ago from another store, but have since chalked it up as a loss since I had already ground down the 3 tabs on the outside and figured I was now stuck with them.
