Re: Who is interested in an aftermarket fender flare alternative?

I keep hoping someone will offer the SRT style flares that fits on a limited without having to swap bumpers...

Also, I'm in LA but since I'm not looking for as big a flare as you guys are talking about not sure I would be much help...

Re: Who is interested in an aftermarket fender flare alternative?

If anyone interested I have a set of OEM flares I took off my '14 JGC Limited I'll be putting on Ebay. No mounting hardware and no single flares. I can't remember who was going to paint theirs and replace with stock when they sold it. Or someone with the tire rubbing problem might need some extras PM me and make me an offer; I'd send a PayPal invoice to your email addy.

I am working on it. You need to modify and cut 4 extra flares so you can use them on the front and rear bumpers. The flares are getting painted now. Should have some pics of them next week. I also found out that the SRT rocker moldings are needed to complete the look. But I did find a way to do it without needing to get the front and rear bumper components.

Re: Who is interested in an aftermarket fender flare alternative?

Forgot to mention this, but I got my SRT rocker moldings for 300.00 shipped to my door. Just for jeeps wanted 350.00 plus shipping which would of turned out to be over 400.00. I don't want to pile on just for jeeps, but there are much more better prices for this kind of stuff. Do your homework and have part numbers in hand to compare prices.

Re: Who is interested in an aftermarket fender flare alternative?

...lets try to stay on topic here

Any new guys just reading this thread - if you have any interest please reply, again - we are looking to simply re-produce the concept flares. Also still looking for some help in the Los Angeles area for R&D

Re: Who is interested in an aftermarket fender flare alternative?

There is one point that hasn't yet been raised about the functionality of a reproduction concept flare—I know this doesn't concern most, but in Australia (I believe in all states) it is illegal to run wheels and tyres that protrude beyond the body work of the vehicle, a problem which is overcome by fitting flares.

If I want to run 0 or -12 offset wheels which are quite common on JKs and more readily available as a result, I need flares. Bottom line, count me in as very interested!

Re: Who is interested in an aftermarket fender flare alternative?

well guys - this project is currently dead in the water. Sounds like the manufactuer wanted too much for either molds or minimum order. Unless we can crowd source like 30k I would say this is a no go

Think we should go that route?

Good luck with the endeavor. Honestly, any extra parts we can get for our WK2s as options, I'm all for. Just not entirely sold on these as of yet.
When I get on it it sure looks like the flares extending past the body keep the water & mud shooting out of the fenderwell instead of up. Pretty tame wheeling but the concept is clear. Tires are 275/65-18 Maxxix Bighorns.

LOL a month later...

That hardly shows if they work like you say. That person is going so slow and barely turns the wheel. But if they'll do the job for you, god speed and good luck.

Unfortunate the project won't be going through, but I just saw that Chief Products has some flares in the works that could be an answer for some of us.
