As promised, from the outside and inside., Again, sorry for the quality. I think I should just put a disclaimer up since I only use my iP4 for photos...

Re: Window tinting?

hi there! I am getting my front windows tinted next weekend. Guy i am working with suggested 20% to match the rest.
In past cars i have had tinted the guy pulled the door panels off to do the job....is this necessary in the 2011 Cherokee or ok to just pull up the rubber seal?

Re: Window tinting?

20% is the correct match for the rears and dont take it apart. just have him pull the door rubber out slightly with a plastic squeege it works fine.................

Ouffff, no offense but that looks pretty bad. I would be removing that tint strip if it were mine. If there was a way so that you dont have those areas showing in the middle then fine, but that I wouldnt be able to deal with.

Re: Window tinting?

They can put black vinyl over the dots, I think. They did that on the back window of my vette. Maybe you are right about covering up a sensor. I just think that the tint doesn't stick too well to the dots. I'm no expert though!

I agree but what are you gonna do? The tinting in my rear quarters on my 88 Mustang and my 06 G35 did the same thing. I've asked for them to correct it but I guess there is no way for the tint to adhere between the pattern. I does look silly but from the inside you can't see it and since I am inside my car a lot more than I am outside just looking at it it will stay for now.

Both my old WK and now new WK2 has a clear film on the front windscreen. It adheres fine. No problems for more 3 years.

Clear film on the front windscreen?
My windows and visor strip are tinted from the inside, like all tinted windows. The dot matrix pattern is also on the inside of the windshield, not the exterior.

Re: Window tinting?

My tint, 20%. Got the fronts done, decided against the visor tint.

Yes clear/neutral tint on the INSIDE over the whole front windscreen, including the dot matrix pattern. Both cars, no problem
