Any pictures? I'd love to show the installers and ask why they are not able to do it...

Re: Window tinting?

In addition to the front drivers and passengers windows I'll also have the pano roof done as well. I've alway had a light tint put on my moonroofs, and DOES cut down on the heat load along with 98-99% UV reduction.

Re: Window tinting?

Can anyone recommend a good, quality tint place in the NYC tri-state area? I had electronic tint done on my Lexus and after a year or so it began to peel a little. I want absolute perfection.

I does look silly but from the inside you can't see it and since I am inside my car a lot more than I am outside just looking at it it will stay for now.
It is a bit difficult to see the tint, but here it is...
First photo is driverís side. In the second one on the passenger side I lifted a small corner so that you can see the film. The rest is done in a 70/30 tint. All from V-Kool.

Thanks, those are great. A close up shot of the rear-view mirror area from the outside would be much appreciated though. From looking at the interior pics you can see that the tint is not adhered between the dot pattern. So I am believe the condition exists on each of our vehicles. But since my visor strip is much darker (5%) it is far more noticable.

That looks great and good choice on the visor tint. Personally, I think visor tint is so "'80's" and really cheapens the look of the WK2

I took one from outside, but it is even less noticeable than from inside. Cant see the film at all.

I can't remember what he said it was, but he showed me a few samples of cheap tint and what it look like over time. Not good!

I agree that the WK2 looks better without it! The tint guy actual stood beside me looking at the jeep and said, yeah I agree the visor tint woudln't look very good on this! That sold me not to get it, plus a few pics on here I saw didn't help either! haha

Probably LLumar, that seems to be what most of the better shops have been using for the last decade.

I've used LLumar here in FL for the last 15 years and have never had an issue. A car I did 10 years ago looks as good today as it did in 2000.

^^^ I agree! Every reputable tint shop around the Chicago area uses Llumar films and so did a couple of the shops down in FL that I have used when I lived there. The latest guys that I have been using on my last 3 cars says he only uses Llumar films and and its the best from his experience in the tinting business. Thats what will be going on my Overland.
