Windshield camera recallibration?

I was told that I might have to have the forward driver assist camera re-calibrated at the dealer after I have a windshield replacement. Anyone have to do this? I'm having the replacement done at a trusted shop with OEM glass.

I had my windshield replaced yesterday and I knew the camera would need calibration. I have glass coverage through my insurance. I went with a glass company that works with my dealership so I could get the calibration done the same day.

Interesting - mine was just replaced - now forward collision is acting up and the auto high beams are not diming when rear tail-lights are near - they also do not dim till on coming traffic is very close. Prior to the windshield replacement all was working fine. Are you having any issues with the auto high beams? Also wondering if you have a 2015 Summit? Could you take a photo of the right from side of the windshield or send over the part #'s off of the front windshield?

My 2015 Summit diesel juat had the windshield replaced. My original window had the word "acoustic" on the windshield near the part #'s.

The replacement glass does not say "acoustic" - it was ordered by my VIN and has a Mopar logo. Was wondering if you could share the part #s on the right front corner. Also, does your new window say "acoustic" ?

How long does it take to calibrate and do you know the procedure?

Re: Windshield camera recallibration?

Interesting and I'm gonna follow this thread. I have a newly purchased 2015 High Altitude which has been great, however I am finding out the auto high beams are not working good. I had a 2014 Summit prior and they worked great. Same night driving and the high beams will not go off with cars dead ahead of me. I purchased the vehicle brand new so I would assume it's the original windshield, but sounds like either the sensor is defective or needs recalibrating. I don't necessarily want to bring my new Jeep in for service, but I do like to use the auto high beams as half of my commutes are at night on country roads so the feature comes in handy and worked great on my 2014 Summit. Wish there was a way to do it myself, but sounds like th Chrysler scan tool is required for calibration.

Hobbie01,
I know I do not have a Summit, but here are the numbers off my new 2015 High Altitude with a 12/15 build date. This may be helpful because if yours matches the numbers off my non-Summit glass then you know maybe they used the wrong glass since I believe yours should be acoustic and my High Altitude is not (I think).

Bingo - that is the exact part # of the replacement glass. Thank You! Do you have a diesel? Photo of the replacement glass attached.

I took a photo of a new Summit on a dealer lot - it says "Acoustic" - see the 2nd photo.... Looks like the glass shop installed the wrong glass.

Re: Windshield camera recallibration?

Dang sorry to see that, but glad I could help. No diesel, I have a High Altitude V6. Either the shop had no clue there is a difference between the models, or they did and tried to pull a fast one by getting the cheaper glass. Seems strange because if they run the VIN you would think the correct required part would come up. In this case Summit acoustic glass.

Re: Windshield camera recallibration?

^^^ 2014 doesn't use the same glass as the 2015 models.

Re: Windshield camera recallibration?

When the time comes for a new windshield.....I wonder if an 'acoustic' would fit in the '14's frame properly?

I think it should. I cannot see jeep making the window channels differently for one model. Probably just the double pane glass and a thinner rubber seal.
