Windshield tint and dash cam/radar detector

I am planning to hardwire a V1 and a dashcam. Would a 5" tint strip on top of the windshield hide them better? What if place the cam in tint area - would that hinder the video quality?

My ZDX had the top of the windshield lightly tinted from the factory, I mounted the radar just below the strip and it was barely visible from the outside, yet did a great job.

I wish the WK2 came with the windshield darker tint eyebrow like most vehicles used to come with but seems like almost all models are saving 50 cents per vehicle by eliminating the eyebrow.

Re: Windshield tint

The question still stands - to tint or not to tint

Here are a couple pics of my eyebrow tint (5in center curved out to 7in on the outside edges) with my 9500xi in a blend mount / power tapped from the mirror.

i have a garmin dashcam, and a escort 9500 hardwired in my durango, same mirror designs and all as the grand cherokee. I don't think the tint strip would make much of a difference. I have my escort attached to super big plastic cover, seems to help it blend in a bit.

I have a large plastic cover, , tech package, auto wipers etc.
