Windshield washers

Just bought a 2012 Overland. Why did they put the 2 black window washer thinges on the hood. Ugly looking and when I have to clean snow off the hood...(well you know) I don't use a brush,I use a Snow Broom.

Re: Windshield washers

Having them on the hood gives excellent spray coverage pattern. I have never had a problem with them when cleaning off the snow. The nozzles are in an aerodynamically shaped fixture.

It would be nice if they at least painted the 2 hood mounted w/s washers to match the body color. Really, how much could that possibly cost?

I like that idea, something I have not thought of....But would be simple to organise with the local panel shop...

Re: Windshield washers

Then what do you do when you need to replace this washer nozzles. I rather have them black and cheap to replace than having to paint them when they fail

Lol, I've been wondering the same thing on my 2014 Overland...

Up here it doesn't matter how much snow we get. When it comes time to brush it off nothing touches my paint but my knit gloved hand. Have yet to find any brush that doesn't scratch the clearcoat.

Re: Windshield washers

I don't use a brush. I use something similar to this. Thats why I think the little washer thinges with catch on it.

Yes, I can see where that may be a problem. It doesn't appear to have any bristles, just a polyethylene head?

Re: Windshield washers

What does it do to your paint? For as touchy as clearcoat can be I'm surprised that wouldn't leave scratches.
