I'm having them fix the front bumper so now I won't be getting my Grand until Tuesday. That sucks.
I have bought 4 cars for myself and 4 for my wife from the same dealership you bought your 2011 GC. I also haven't run a front plate for years. As soon as I know the vehicle has left the factory I call and "remind" them that I don't want a front plate......they are "programmed" to drill holes in the front bumper. I have taken all my cars to the service department there and have found them to be excellent. Intruduce yourself to Matt the service Manager...he is a great guy...and honest too.

I saw your Jeep there the other day...Great looking Jeep! Drive safe in all the snow.

Thanks 2011 JGC, I haven't seen the Overland yet (found out about the front bumper over the phone). I do like all the guys at the dealership, I'm just a little peeved that my brand-new Grand is being taken apart and painted before I even get to sit in it. The only good thing about it being in the body shop is I'm having them remove the "Jeep" from the front and the "Grand" side trim from the doors. I was going to do this myself but figured as long as it's there and it's 18 degrees with a foot of snow outside I'd let them do it.

Yes, and that is especially cool when you train one of your HomeLink buttons to release or hide the license plate

Mine came with the license attached directly to the bumper, even though the order sheet for the vehicle indicated a bracket, and Milous' build sheets also lists a bracket for the front license (code MDAS).

In a previous thread people who asked their dealers and Chrysler 800 number about this were told that no such bracket exists (even though it has a code!).

So, apparently the front license plate bracket lives in the enchanted forest with its unicorn friends.

OR, could it be that dealers just can't be bothered removing the front fascia to install the bracket?

The truth eludes me.

I have to have a front plate, and I've always hated the screws that come with the plates. Now I go to home depot and get a close match in stainless steel. No more rust stains down the plate!

Re: WK2 front license plate

So is everyone that needs a front plate screwing it right into the bumper or has anyone found a bracket made for the wk2? If there is no bracket specific to the wk2 has anyone used one of the universal brackets from the auto parts store, and if so how does it fit and look?

I hear ya.......and putting in an advertising plate is adding insult to jury. Ouch. That reminds me I need to request that the dealer not put any stickers on the Jeep that I ordered too. I don't mind it when all the dealer does is put on a rear license plate ad bracket since that just comes off when I put on the license plate. The dealer ads on cars is just plain tacky....I wonder if it really sells any cars...or they have just been doing it for so long they don't even know if it worth it.

Re: WK2 front license plate

I have an oval pewter plate on the front, so it's screwed straight into the bumper. Looks fantastic.

Re: WK2 front license plate

I ordered my Overland yesterday and I told the salesman that I do NOT want holes in my front bumper. He put a note in my file but I know thats pretty much useless especially on a car that wont be there for a few months.
Im going to do what some of you recommended, keep track of the car and contact the dealer prior to its arrival and MAKE SURE it doesnt happen. I will be pissed if I get there and there is a stupid a$$ bracket drilled in there. I have never used a front plate and have never been hassled from the police.

Also, the first thing I do after buying a car is remove all the dealer advertising such as stickers on the back and the gay plate frames. Sorry no free advertising on my car! :-)
