Could you also post the paint color/brand... And what brand of spacers did you buy?

I removed the spacers and grinded the calipers for them not to touch. I used duplicolors charcoalgray wheel paint and duplicolors high gloss clear coat. They hold up good, depends how many coats u give em, but when painting wheels u always run the risk of a dumb tech at the tire shop goes bananas with them and potentially scratches them (it happened but i bought new 2014 moabs and now i will fix the scratch and sell them)

Re: WK2 going to Moab's

The new Rubicon wheels look good with the silver. Nice choice.

I'm curious about the Moabs needing the spacers though. What year is your WK2? I've seen at least two other people on here and possibly JeepForum that are using them on the WK2's without spacers.

I'm guessing you're talking about the other people I saw with them, having light duty brakes? I understand they only fit if you have these.

From what I read that he has a Laredo stock, I figured it was non HD brakes, but he never really answered the person that asked. So that's why I'm curious.

Yeah i have non HD breaks they r just painted.

To answer the needing spacers part, the only reason i needed them at the beginning was bc the casting weld on the calipers was touching the back of the wheel. I has a 1/4" spacer on it until i took a stone grinder to the caliper and grinded the excess weld then it fit perfectly without spacers. The easiest way to know is do a test fit and just hand tight the wheel and spin it and listen and look for any friction. If u dont notice anything, take out the wheel and inspect the back, if it touched it would show since the caliper is stronger than the alloy wheels.

I'm just not understanding why the exact same setup would need spacers and the other one doesn't.

Guess I'll just have to find out for myself, but saving an extra $200 would be nice if they aren't necessary.

Always test fit before buying.
