WK2 Limited capri vs nappa seats

So while looking at options for a new GC Limited trim I have the option of either the standard capri leather seats or the nappa seats included in the Lux Grp II package.

Now I realize the nappa seats are ventilated but overall are there other differences between the seats that would affect long term durability and comfort?

I am hoping to go spend a little seat time in both pretty soon. Dont know if I want ventilated seats, just seems like asking for something to get spilled in them.

If you have any opinions between these two seats I would appreciate feedback.

Re: WK2 Limited capri vs nappa seats

Yes, the density of the seat foam:

For MY14 your seat foam is:

Laredo/E, Cloth....#2 Foam
Altitude, Suede....#5 Foam
Limited (Std)....#6 Foam
Limited (Lux II)....#1 Foam
Overland....#5 Foam
Summit....#3 Foam
SRT (Suede Perf)....#4 Foam
SRT (Laguna)....#7 Foam

To the best of my knowledge, higher number is firmer as I know for a fact the Overland #5 seats are very firm compared to my #3 Summit seats. So, relatively speaking, SRT's w/ Laguna seats (#7) have rocks for seats and Lux II Limiteds (#1) have squishers and other models/trims fill in between.

Other things like seat material, seat shape, bolster config, seat surface material, vented/non-vented, position, etc.. all affect perceived seat comfort.

The Nappa leather is of higher quality than the Capri and will be more resistant to long term wear. The firmness of the seat foam also plays a part in how the leather wears. I believe there'll be less leather cracking with firmer seat foam.

'15 overland with the Napa vented seats. Nothing to compare it to, but "the twins" like the vented seats

Nappa is very nice in the Limited. Better than the standard leather in our X3.

Re: WK2 Limited capri vs nappa seats

I honestly dont think the foam is any stiffer between the Limited, Limited Lux II and Overland now.
They are definitely different foam kits because of the differences in the seat shape and bolsters, but as far as stiffness goes I dont think they are that much different in the current 2015's.

Test drove 7 WK2's in the last four days, 3 Limiteds, 2 Limited Lux II and 2 Overlands.

I think in the end I will wind up getting the standard limited without vented seats. Fishing, camping, kayaking, hunting and occasional kids means stuff inevitably gets spilled on seats and the ventilated seats look like they will be a major PITA. So many decisions when building a new vehicle...

Maybe its just me, but I couldn't tell much different between them for me as far as comfort goes. But I do think the Limited and Overland is more comfortable to me than the Summit. I don't know what it was but something about the Summit didn't feel right, but then again comfort is unique to each individual.

I do appreciate everyones input, and I agree DaveCap "the boys" would appreciate the airflow.

Re: WK2 Limited capri vs nappa seats

It took the foam in my Limited nappa leather about 1000 miles to break in. It felt firm and flat before it contoured to my body. I'm on the smaller side, 5-10 165.
