are there any racks with kits that will allow you to attach directly to the slim line black rail that comes with the 2015 Overland?

Re: WK2 Rack Systems: Manufacturers List

The other day atop some Yukon or Suburban was a roof rack that had this flying saucer-looking device. The driver said it was a portable satellite TV receiver. A cool idea for those who may want it all. It was a TracVision A9. Here is from an image search:

Re: WK2 Rack Systems: Manufacturers List

I really like the Subaru Outback factory roof rack...I think that all manufactures should install roof racks like this from the factory...or at least something with the stow cross rails.

Use case:
Occasional lumber (a few 2x4's here and there)
Luggage holder for travel
Paddle Boards

So did you purchase these cross bars and if so how are they working? Has anyone else tries these? Thanks

Will that Rhino rack work on SRT roof rails as well?

Re: WK2 Rack Systems: Manufacturers List

Hope this is the right place for this, but I have a brand new Whispbar S25 (with fitment kit) set that I am considering parting with (can ship - I'm in SF) as I am considering getting the Front Runner slimline II rack so I can get a rooftop tent. Anyone interested? I have a '14 Alt with sport plastic rails, not the aluminum silver rails. I can part with the Curt rack as well if someone is interested in the pair together.

Not exactly what you're asking for but I'd be interested in driving up and seeing your slimline II rack when it's installed. Can I come up one day? I'm about 45 minutes south of The City. I haven't ordered the Gobi yet but that's what I most likely will do after my payments end next May. Tho$e Gobi rack$ are $leek and $trong, but - $hoot! - they $ure are expen$ive.

Nice color of your JGC, BTW.

Re: WK2 Rack Systems: Manufacturers List

Where do you guys tie down your cargo ropes with these racks? I am looking at getting the Rhino Rack for my 2016 GC Summit, but it has no eyelets for tie downs.

I traded in my old Toy 4Runner Limited and it had stock racks and there were also 2 eyelet rings on each side rail that I used to tie down stuff.

Use come along (ratchet) straps. These are the absolute best, IMO. You can connect the hook to the rack, or wrap the strap around a cross bar and clip the hook to the strap (not ideal, for long-term wear), and ratchet it tight.

I also sometimes use carabiners - mountain climbing gear. Very strong and very versatile piece of gear (I've towed cars with these, pulled some out of ditches, and once towed a car over 150 miles with carabiners and a length of climbing rope).

With these your load can be very tightly anchored. Once I hit the trails with my son's college dorm furniture strapped to the rack, bouncing and jostling around, and everything stayed secure - at Hungry Valley SVRA in California (few trees). Take care to not overtighten the straps.
