Yes there is room for zip ties if you do the installation method from below where most components get mounted lower in the bumper.
Double sided tape is very strong. Just make sure you clean the surface first, but thats obvious. I have removed parts that have been installed using the supplied double sided tape and let me just say, it is NOT easy to remove them...even with a flat head screwdriver prying at it.

I will also agree that the double sided tape is very strong. Just make sure you get automotive. The flat V3 resistor is very secure and going through both the hot summer/cold winter there has been no issue with it peeling off or losing its adhesive capability.

If you want to make the small opening larger under the taillight, remove the bumper screw located under the rear hatch bump stop next to the taillight. You can take a plastic trim tool and wedge it into the opening to make it larger. I was able to fit the OEM bulb socket down into the bumper area along with sticking the flat V3 resistor to the metal surface. I also looped some of the wiring and zip tied so that there was nothing able to drop down or swing around.

BTW: The replacement V3 Bulb adapter got me back up and running.

I don't have the V3 Tritons, but I do have vleds bulbs with my taillight solutions harness. I also have the old brass 6ohm vled resistors and over 6 months they got hot enough to dry out the double sided tape and start kind of burning it. I had one of the resistors tape fail and sit on the rear fog housing and kind of scare it. Luckily I smelled it and caught it fast enough.

Make sure to mount your resistors in a good place. I just placed an order for the new vleds black resistors and some extension pig tails. Gonna put the resistor underneath on the hitch cross bar like someone stated above.

My drivers side LED failed yesterday. Sent them a picture of me destroying it and they already shipped me a new one. Good customer service. Hopefully it lasts longer than 2 months though this time around lol

Interesting yours failed. I have owned many sets of V3 tritons and was probably one of the very first customers years ago when the 1st generation of Tritons were released. Not a single failure yet!! You must have just got a bad one!

Since you have a picture of the bulb barely on I would imagine its most likely the bulb, but did you try swapping bulbs just to double check? I would hate for them to send you just a new bulb, only to find out maybe it was a defective driver. Either way though they have great customer service and the Triton's are top notch products....well except for yours lol.

Hahaha yea, they required it. The dim one (originally drivers side) is plugged in the to passengers side on this photo It came from the drivers side originally. I also put the passengers side bulb to the drivers and it worked fine. They were great to deal with. They asked me to do this though and send a photo !

The wires broke off there? How did that happen?

They probably asked him to cut it on purpose so that it cannot be resold as new (intact) product.

Ahh ok yeah I wasn't sure if that's what he was referring to when he said they asked him to do it. Haha
