Well I can't wait for my back order from about 3 weeks ago to ship. I also have the reverse lights to install along with a 3k HID kit for the front fogs and my lighting mods are complete!

Yeah it will be worth the wait trust me. I ended up going with VLEDS new VMX 5000K LED fog lights and I'm extremely happy with the look. They complement the look and color of the factory HIDs and LED DRL's as well.

I am stunned at the ability to change the focus, that's both genius and awesome!

Two more questions if you don't mind...

Do the amber lights have this same ability to tailor the focus?

And, if the "park" mode of the red tail light is that bright - how much brighter does it go at full "brake" brightness?

The amber lights are identical to the reds. The focal length can be adjusted as well. what's neat about the Amber ones I have is that they are dimmer in the standard park light mode, then when you activate the turn signal the dim park light turns off and it flashes on/off in full brightness. Once signaling is done, the dim park lamp goes back on.

The pictures you see of my red brake lights are full brightness. The '14+ grand Cherokee is different than the '11-'13 in that the '14+ has factory LED running lights and the brake lamp only goes on for the brakes or turn signals. So any picture you see of my setup is full brightness. The V3 Tritons are not overly bright. They are comparable to other vehicles that came equipped with LED's from the factory which is perfect. The pictures I posted of my Scura TL are full brightness turn signals. No red picture you see is in dim mode. If these were installed in a '11-'13 WK2, the dimmer red tail lamp would be similar brightness to stock.

Re: WK2 rear brake turn LED's installed. VLED V3 Triton with pics

Yep apologies, I just realised that was an obsolete question - no dual-filament due to the LED surround on the WK2.

Fascinating about your brake & indicator situation - couldn't quite understand what you were describing so I went back through this thread and found your videos. It appears your brake and indicator lights are inside the same housing - so the same upper section is used for BOTH the brake and indicator? Reminiscent of what I thought was an old American concept - the brake light ceases to be a brake light when turning and is instead an indicator.

To clarify, here in Australia indicators are always a dedicated light. Here is a picture I just took of my Overland with the brake AND rear-right indicator on at same time - you'll notice the top of the housing is the brake and the bottom is the indicator.

If I understand what your setup is doing, it is still the same parts needed - just that the 7440 amber is inserted in the same upper section of the housing as the 3157 red and that the Jeep software must turn off the red when the amber is in use? That said, surely the amber would not look very amber through a red sense?

No biggie just a fascinating difference

Yup, U.S. Americans got the lighting all backwards with red rear turn signals. Wish we matched ROW (rest of world) spec. That spot on your Overland for the amber indicator is a second white reverse light on our Jeeps.

Not all cars here in the U.S. have red rear turn signals. My rear signals on my Tahoe are amber.

Re: WK2 rear brake turn LED's installed. VLED V3 Triton with pics

Yeah actually it seems like a lot of cars here in the U.S. do have separate indicators, but obviously not all of them. That's interesting I did not know the import '14+ WK2 had a separate amber turn signal. That's actually pretty cool looking. If you wanted to add full LED to the back of your import WK2 you would need a red and an amber kit. Bit more pricey, but sure would look cool.

Also, just to clarify for U.S. WK2's there is no additional bulb required that goes in that same upper section if that's what you were getting at. All I needed was a single red LED for each side. That bulb works both brake and signal. And yes you are correct if you have the brakes applied at the same time you are going to use an indicator, that side then becomes indicator only and will go from solid brake to flashing.
On our 2014 Highlander and now my wife's new 2015 Honda Odyssey both have separate amber indicators, and yes I already have the V3 Tritons installed in both the red brake and amber signals. They look awesome!

Here is what the back of the housing look like in my wifes 2014 Highlander that has separate indicators. This is one of the original Gen 1 kits, but here is what it looks like with an amber indicator and red brake kit in the same housing. This is how it would be in your WK2 if you decided to do both.

I've had these for awhile. The seal on one of them wasn't tight enough and water got into my taillight, literally had a fishbowl effect. Now one of my taillights are ruined. I tried my best using air to get the water out but they occasionally fog up and you can clearly see water marks.

You have to use the right thickness rubber gasket (they provide several). I had to compress the gasket I chose pretty hard to seat the bulb...can't imagine any water could get in mine but it's possible. It never rains here in CA so it'll be a long time before I can test the theory.

Any questions please feel free to ask.

Rear of housing with bulb and controller installed:

In above photo, the 2 unconnected wires then connect to the factory wiring harness? What about the resistors that keep the MIL form illuminating? I'd like to see those photos. Thank you
