WK2 rear brake turn LED's installed. VLED V3 Triton with pics

I finally received my backordered Gen 2.5 VLED V3 Triton red brake/turn bulbs for the rear lights of my 2014 Summit. The '14+ Grand Cherokee has some nice LED's, however they still didn't give us rear LED brake and turn signals. Kind of surprising since they added factory front LED turn signals which are pretty stunning and brilliant. Now we can have it all! I just installed my V3 Triton's and they are nothing short of amazing. I have had them in other vehicles of mine and nothing on the market compares. They are 100% plug and play and completely reversible. The output provides a much wider beam in all directions, deeper red colors, and the instant on/off that make LED's not only look amazing, but safer as well. I took pictures of the output on the wall to show a comparison between the stock incandescent bulb and the new V3 LED bulb. You can clearly see the difference!
Any questions please feel free to ask.

The LED bulb:

Wall output from other side. VLED still on left side, stock on right. Much larger output, deeper red, and more intensity:

Looks good! Did you get the inline resistors they have as an option?

Yes, well I ordered the new Gen 2.5 plug and play resistors, but they still haven't arrived as there were longer than expected delays in production. I still tried the lights though and here is what I found which is kind of interesting. So the lights at all four corners function 100% normally. No hyper flash even without the resistors. What's interesting is only the dash arrow indicator hyper flashes while the exterior lights flash at normal rate. You also get a bulb out message for left and right rear lights when you first start the car. So far now it's fine I can deal with the message until the new V3 resistors arrive which shouldn't be too much longer. What's cool is they just plug right into the connector that's already there so it will only take 2 minutes to add that later.
The pictures above don't really do them justice compared to stock, but they make the stock bulbs look hideous. Infact earlier I was driving behind a Summit and was surprised at how dim and all around dull the stock brake lights looked (except for the LED third brake light which looked good). That problem is now solved....atleast on my Jeep anyway ;-P

Yeah I noticed that as well. It's kind of a pain when there is something you want, but the V3's are worth the wait. I waited about a month for mine to finally arrive. I guess they just can't produce these things fast enough? I'm not sure what the problem is.

I ordered some the other day by calling them...they just don't want to put an ETA because they are waiting on a redesign of a single component or something. They're definitely coming back to regular stock, they just don't want to overpromise.

I don't quite get Jeep's obsession with crappy brake lights. I'd think with the lawsuit of WJ's catching fire after getting rear-ended, they'd put some insanely bright lights back there. My WJ lights also had one 3157 bulb on each side, even though the brake light housing itself was huge and had a spot for an additional bulb!

I figured with the WK2 upgraded LED rear lights, the brake lights would be awesome and LED like an Audi or something. Nope, just the running lights... Wish there was a way to make the LED running light brighter as a brake light. Hell, my WRX brake lights were a cluster of individual LEDs and were bright as hell! I could see the face of the driver behind me light up.

Really wish this install wasn't so expensive and complicated with the resistor and all.

Expensive yes. But it really is a super simple install.

Re: WK2 rear brake turn LED's installed. VLED V3 Triton with pics

^^^ yeah the install is actually pretty simple. Again, 100% plug and play. Can you put two connectors together? If so then you can do this. No splicing whatsoever even with the resistors which are plug and play and made specifically for the V3 LED's....not just a generic resistor that you have to splice into your factory wiring.
As far as price, yeah they aren't the cheapest LED's, but in the grand scheme of things what's a hundred bucks when your talking superior lighting that not only looks amazing, but is extremely functional? I wish my pictures did them justice, but even the color is 20 times better. The stock output almost looked orange compared to how pure red these are.
Anyway, I'm beginning to sound like a VLED employee trying to make some sales here lol.

Do you know when the V3 resistors are coming out? Those look GREAT!! What was the total cost with the bulbs and adapters?

Last I talked to VLED's they were expecting the new resistors to come in or atleast be shipped to them sometime this week. So if that goes as planned I should have them next week at some point. He said they are expecting 1500+ units to arrive. I forget the exact price for everything, but it was probably around $130 shipped for everything. That includes resistors, screws, several different rubber washers to fit pretty much any application etc etc. They really are very nice and well designed and IMO worth the cost. These are definitely not your average LED bulb.
