Re: WK2 rear fog lamp kits ** availability

I personally really like the looks of this kit and would have ordered one in a heartbeat if it were not for the price. $270 just seems a bit steep for two small reflector housings and a piggyback harness. Other than that, a great looking mod and something that would make your ride stand out a bit.

I second this.

I considered the MOPAR Fog kit, but really, how useful is it?
Whereas this kit makes the lights useful 100% of the time.
Its just a bit steep for a couple of extra lights and harness, IMHO.

I understand your point but considering the fact that the MOPAR rear foglamp kit is $229.00 and requires a considerable amount of time and effort to install along with only offering one function I do believe my price is more than fair and reasonable. Perhaps one day I will be able to offer a group buy on the kits but until the parts become more available I will not be able to do that.

Re: WK2 rear fog lamp kits ** availability

i don't understand why people are whining about the cost, it's a free market and obviously he had no problems selling his first batch.

it's capitalism comrades...

eta: have some of you seen the Mopar PDF installation instructions? IIRc it's 66 pages.

Re: WK2 rear fog lamp kits ** availability

To everyone that purchased these - make sure you report back as I really want to hear how the install goes and if there are any heat issues. I think it is a great addition to the back of the car. I drive a lot in heavy snow and some fog which is why I was interested in the rear fog lights, but I agree with the comments about the Mopar Rear Fog installation process, not only do I not want to tear that much of my car apart, I am not going to pay someone to do it ha ha ha.

Actually it's 22 pages, the rest are in other languages. That unfortunately is the proceedure to do the installation the right way as if it came that way from the factory! And the Mopar kit can be had for $183.20 (Thats 20% off MSRP of $229.00)

Re: WK2 rear fog lamp kits ** availability

How about a video of the LED bulb installed on one side and the incandenscent bulb in the other side for comparison?

Here you go, it's involved, enjoy!

http://site.justforjeeps.com/guide/82212166.pdf

It looks like the Tailight Solutions kit being discussed in this thread uses the same Mopar rear fog tailight housings that are in the Mopar rear foglight kit, (part # 82212166).

Mopar part #'s for the individual rear foglight housings;
LAMP-REAR FOG [Mopar Part# 57010716AC] Right/Pass. side MSRP $51.60 (These lamp housings can be had for $37.45 online)
LAMP-REAR FOG [Mopar Part# 57010717AC] Left/Drivers side MSRP $51.60

Instructions and a piggyback harness are included to do the install. Seems like alot of $$ for what the kit includes, but it appears to be very good quality and recommended by the only guy who has installed one so far.

Re: WK2 rear fog lamp kits ** availability

I'm definitely in for a set of halogens when they're back in stock! Given the easier installation and added functionality of the rear fog lights as brake and turn signal lights I'll go for this set up.
