It looks like the Tailight Solutions kit being discussed in this thread uses the same Mopar rear fog tailight housings that are in the Mopar rear foglight kit, (part # 82212166).

Mopar part #'s for the individual rear foglight housings;
LAMP-REAR FOG [Mopar Part# 57010716AC] Right/Pass. side MSRP $51.60 (These lamp housings can be had for $37.45 online)
LAMP-REAR FOG [Mopar Part# 57010717AC] Left/Drivers side MSRP $51.60

Instructions and a piggyback harness are included to do the install. Seems like alot of $$ for what the kit includes, but it appears to be very good quality and recommended by the only guy who has installed one so far.
Just a Fyi the mopar housings you quote do not include sockets, or bulbs or wiring, or split loom, or heat shrink, nor the multiple connectors used to make it plug and play. On top of that, the labor that goes into making the kit, as well the work and thought for the detailed and visual instructions. I'd say the price is not over the top nor is it cheap. You get what you pay for and I think most of the price is parts/shipping and obviously some labor. You can't expect Taillight Solutions to offer the kit at cost do you? There would be no point of him making it just like any other product companies make.

For closest match to the stock tail lights should I go with the halogen?

Thanks

Yes correct halogen would be your best bet based on my experience with them so far and what I've been told.

No the mopar housings are just the housings. All the other parts you mentioned to complete the kit would probably cost about the same as the housings. So for $299.99 retail I think the price for the "kit" is rather steep, for what your getting..... as others have stated right in this thread.

I really have no idea what Tailight Solutions "cost" for all the parts might actually be, but I would put it at about $80.00~$100.00 dollars tops by buying components in bulk lots of 10 minimum, less if parts are purchased in higher quantities if you know where to source them.

At those prices I think a markup of 200% is excessive, but hey it's your money not mine, & if your happy with the kit I'm happy for you!

Re: WK2 rear fog lamp kits ** availability

Wait, wait, wait, wait. Does this mean the two stock red reflectors in the rear bumper are non-functional even in an Overland?

+1, it's amazing, this is a free capitalist market - maybe Raptor would be happy in North Korea with everyone being equal, I wonder if he's an Occupy Wall Street protestor

I actually think the kit is different and pretty cool..... I do like it!
Just priced a little high, like you said nobody's forcing anyone to buy anything.
