WK2-Rust on the body
It is getting close to cold and snow up here in the mid-west, and I like to prep my daily drivers by a deep exterior clean before the salt hits the roads.
Unfortunately, I found a rust spot above the windshield that I would like to get addressed so that it doesn't spread. In my experience, a body shop would have me in for a kilo-buck for a repair like this, and I am looking at this and thinking that I could mask off the area (spot is about half the size of a dime in diameter, likely from a real good rock chip) and tackle it on my own.
Before I break out the masking tape and my small grinding wheel -- Is there any tips anyone would like to throw my way; like what to coat the bare metal with before hitting it with a small amount of primer and top coating with my paint chip stuff?
