Re: Wooden gear knob?

If the color and wood match is close to my overland I would pay $200. I am hobby wood worker and done quite a bit of carving over the years and that seems to a fair price to if the quality is good.

I'm still interested, especially if the price could come down to $150.00

Re: Wooden gear knob?

I would be interested in one to match my Overland with Saddle leather. That would be great..and I would pay up to 200.00 for a good quality product.

Re: Wooden gear knob?

Presumably this offer has been permanently withdrawn? It would be nice to know.

Re: Wooden gear knob?

I like the matte finish on the euro chrysler 300 ( lancia thema)
Why is the wood always made like plastic with loads of gloss? Looks so cheap!
I'd pay for completely exchanging the wood trim for a matte wood trim when available.

Re: Wooden gear knob?

I am interested in getting the shift knob for the Overland Summit. Is there an option for the saddle leather as well as the black? If so what would the price difference be?

Re: Wooden gear knob?

I am new to the forum; however, I previously owned a Chrysler Crossfire which had the Mercedes drive train. I went to a Mercedes on line company and purchased a wood gear shift knob.

I just purchased a 2013 GC Limited and noticed the transmission is also made in Germany (Mercedes?) so this opens up the possible avenues for those looking for a wood shift knob.

Re: Wooden gear knob?

SDJeep you are correct:

See page five of this thread and you will see some photos of what I have done and a few styles that I had posted

I also previously owned a 98 C280 and realized that it was possible to swap shift knobs as they were very similar.

You will however have to put something on the shift lever to make it fit snuggly, other than that it is a direct swap.

I uses a small diameter clear vinyl tube to acheive this.

Your suspicions about the transimission to are correct, the very same 5 speed is also used in the 4-Matic car models from the C class all the way up to the CL.
