Re: would you traid in new 14 laredo for used 14 overland ?

I did exactly that this year....I had a new 14 loredo 3.6 with 10000 miles and traded it for a new 2014 Overland 3.6....here are my thoughts.....I liked the Loredo a lot but it didn't have leather or power tailgate ....two things I wanted...I do love the Overland, particularly the interior trim level.....However, I did find that loredo got better mileage...understandable since it is 600 pounds lighter than the Overland...features like Quad TrackII and quadra lift, 20 in tires and rims, panoramic sun roof etc..all add weight to vehicle. got 22 all around and 26 on trip with Loredo, only get 20 and 23 with Overland. Fortunately gas got cheap so I don't mind, but if it was still 4 dollars a gallon I would be less happy. I do love overland trim, but could live w/o quadralift and pana sunroof and I don't like the 20in tires and it also has a cd player in the console which I never use and it takes up the whole damn console.
So just be aware that there is a trade off for the added features, not to mention 8 grand.

If you've added all of that to your 800 mile Laredo why would you want to trade that for the same year Overland with 10000 miles and pay $8000 to boot?

That makes no sense.

Rarely does a dealer place any value on the modifications you make to your vehicle. You'll never get that money back on a trade in.

Re: would you traid in new 14 laredo for used 14 overland ?

You'll lose big time. You also want to wonder why someone traded an Overland with such low mileage. It could be plagued with issues -- like many '14s are. Like others have said, your mods mean nothing to the dealer. They'd actually prefer for it to be stock. The only mod they may add for, is the leather.
