Yakima Railgrab Question

I got a Yakima system for Christmas and I am a little confused with the parts. I got the Railgrab towers with the 3 different feet that attach to the stock rails. I also got a kit that includes shorter legs (the upper part that goes in the tower itself) as well as new feet with only a pin at the bottom rather than a claw. It isn't really clear if all the pieces in the separate kit were supposed to be used. From the looks of the instructions, the pin should go in a hole on the rail - which the WK2 does not have. However the shorter legs make sense to clear the plastic rail surround. It kind of looks like the new short legs should be used with the short feet that came with the towers (discarding the standard legs and optional feet I got separately). Does that make sense? Can anyone tell me what they have used? Thanks!

all that other stuff is not needed. just the little brackets that were extra. Not the large, medium or the one with the little pin. the sit very low and flush to the roof. Also make sure that you get the little bracket into the rail that runs the length of the roof.

Re: Yakima Railgrab Question

Sorry if you already have these Yak instructions below, but based on page 4 it looks like you may need the shorter clamps for the flush channel WK2 roof tracks. Molson's pics will likely tell you best setup. Good luck.

Ok, I think I see what you have: That's the WK2 specific upper leg with the small standard claw. Is that right?

And yes, I had the instructions - I was just a little confused as to why Yakima sent the pin claw part if it wasn't needed.

Re: Yakima Railgrab Question

got the extra parts from yakima as well. in order to get 3 points of contact is the tower actually clamping to the (outside) black portion of the factory rails or is it just resting above (i.e. clamping to only the chrome portion of the rail)?

Also - I will be using a skybox...pretty well loaded, any noise tips?
