Your opinion on my tail light setup. '14 Summit, SRT taillights w/chrome bezel

So I have had multiple tail light combinations on my '14 Summit and wouldn't mind your opinion on which setup you would keep.
So the first mod I did was purchased SRT gloss black bezels. I installed those on my stock tail lights and for some reason I could never figure out why I didn't completely like it. It was partially because the gloss black didn't match much on my Summit, but then I found out that the SRT uses a completely different tail light housing that has black internals which gives it a more smoked look with the black inner frames. I originally thought the lamps were the same but just with different bezels.
I stumbled upon a great deal on brand new SRT tail lights so I bought those and installed. They look great and I love the darker lights compared to the regular housing which IMO is too bright red. The SRT housings really tone it down.
So right now its a toss up between the SRT housings with gloss black bezels or the chrome bezels. I like both but cant decide. Maybe I will just keep changing them every month or so lol.

Here are pictures of every setup I have had. What do you guys think?

100% stock. The day I purchased it new. Original tail lights and still have the original dark gray painted lower skirts (blah).

Complete SRT tail lights. Note I also have the lower skirts paint matched white. Looks sooooo much better.

SRT tail lights with chrome bezels added. Gives the darker tail light look, but keeps the chrome trim theme going. I like that its consistent where as sometimes I feel the gloss black bezels are slightly out of place.

Stock SRT tail light:

SRT tail light with chrome bezels:

Both look really good I think. Some days I like the black, some days I like the chrome lol

Re: Your opinion on my tail light setup. '14 Summit, SRT taillights w/chrome bezel

I think you should stick to everything stock because you have Bright White and chrome I think that works best for your set up. If you do, because I'm getting a Brilliant Black Overland I would be interested in purchasing the SRT taillights with black bezels if you decide to stick to the stock Summit tailights/chrome for yours. And I'm not just saying that because I want them, I just think the SRT look works better with Briliant Black but the Bright Red/Chrome looks best with Bright White.

Re: Your opinion on my tail light setup. '14 Summit, SRT taillights w/chrome bezel

The photos are a bit deceiving.

When looking at the SRT tail lamps I thought "Damn. Those look really good". But I think that is only because of the black license plate. Since they match, the tail lights dont look out of place.

However then I glanced down at the chrome trim on your bumper...

Long story short, unless youre going to change your wheels to dark color or smoke colored rims, I would keep the chrome bezels with the SRT Lens. This option will give your tail lights a more aggressive look while keeping up with the chrome trend. Having blacked out bezels with everything else chrome looks a little "off"

I think the SRT taillight housing with the chrome bezels matches your overall theme the best.

If you're going to black out other trim pieces than I say black.
If you're going to keep everything else as-is then faux chrome.

Exactly what I was thinking . . . if you black out the Grand Cherokee, Jeep and 4x4 badges, then I think black tail light trim would look more consistent. Possibly with black chrome wheels too? I would be interested in seeing how a white JGC with blacked out badges (but chrome trim elsewhere) would look with chrome wheels. Might look great, might look off.

Either way, nice car!

I was thinking of getting SRT headlights and tailights, as well as blacking out badges and wheels on my black summit (front fascia is already entirely painted black body color, along with door handles and mirrors). But I have decided it is the perfect balance of satin/platinum and black for me. May eventually get black chrome SRT wheels, but not sure.

Re: Your opinion on my tail light setup. '14 Summit, SRT taillights w/chrome bezel

Great input guys and I pretty much agree with everything said.
There are so many options sometimes my mind spins when thinking about what to do to the Summit. If I were to go the paint matched, de-chrome, and gloss black addition here would be my plan:
-White vinyl wrap the lower chrome strips all around.
-paint match an extra set of mirror caps and door handles
-OEM gloss black emblems, bumper step pad trim, grills rings.
-SRT/Altitude roof rail delete rails
-SRT black AFS headlights.
-some sort of OEM takeoff wheel either from Altitude or SRT for the more aggressive look.

That would be a lot of money mainly in the headlights and wheels, but I think it would look amazing. The other part of me wants to leave it as is and with my track record who knows how long I'm gonna have it anyway. Either way any mod I do to a car is easily reversible and not permanent with exception to the painted skirts I did which I think would be an improvement in anyone's mind.

I like both, but I'm leaning towards the chrome as well. I think it just matches everything better. By the way love the plate, Go Sox! I have the Hawks plates on mine.

Sox aren't going anywhere this year.

Anyway a Summit parked next to me during lunch yesterday and for the first time I noticed how puny the OEM wheels and tires look.

I'd have to say that the replicas are my favorite upgrade even though initially I wanted to keep the stock wheels.

Re: Your opinion on my tail light setup. '14 Summit, SRT taillights w/chrome bezel

It's too bad because I had a set of new OEM black chrome Goliath SRT takeoffs that I got a killer deal on, however at the time they just didn't look right on my Summit and I really think it was because the granite lower skirts. If I still had those along with my painted skirts, SRT tails, I would be much more motivated to keep going. Ugh, damn those wheels were sick. Heavy as shit though!
