Had to keep up with the standards set by Vertrkr.

Re: 10 minute foot well RGB LED ambient lighting.

Ok I got to it finally. Took more then 10min that's for sure lol. Took a couple-few hrs to get it all done. I didn't really take any pics . My son wanted to go for a ride though so I have a video clip of it changing through the colors when we got back home. Also I only did them under the front foot wheel, on the backs of the front seats for the second row. Then on the back of the 2nd row and down the inside also for the cup holder area. Plenty bright at the lowest setting.

Looks awesome Jeff! I bet your son thinks you drive a space ship now (assuming he's younger). Loving how the lights hit your Mopar pedals, no question those are an important add on. Thanks for the video.

Love it...what's next? A line of red lights in the grill that scans back and forth (shades of KITT from Knight Rider...)

Actually funny you say that because I was two seconds away from doing that first. I almost did a scanner strip but then decided these were more useful. I think as far as lights go, the scanner will be the last thing I do, and you'd only be able to see it when on. I think if KITT was a truck it would be the R/T Durango. Pontiac never had a good SUV option and even though the reboot used the mustang, I just don't see the explorer being KITT.

Yeah, I don't either. And agreed on KITT being an R/T.

And yes, we're all total geeks for discussing this stuff and making arguments about what would/wouldn't work for a modern day version of that TV car. Oh, and that you considered it too...

The car already talks to you, even if some people don't get it just yet...

Re: 10 minute foot well RGB LED ambient lighting.

great idea / great thread.

Just something might help others- using this thread as a guide i started poking around in my floor console this past weekend. (was looking to get an idea of how to do my own LED's and also looking for a source of 5v power to hardwire a qi charger.)

I found on a '14 you can actually just open the armrest and then pry under the center of the console's "top" right there and the whole thing pops right off. It's just a pile of spring clips (the same ones holding the sides to the top).

Once you have that off you can rather easily pull the sides all the way off and get more access if you care (like half the clips where to the top and the rest are into the sides of the console 'guts' .)

There's nothing mechanical in there- the shifter and the AWD shifter are just boxes mounted to the underside that connect to the wiring harness(es).

all i had was a 3cent piece of plastic- "gap opener tool" that i had lying around from an old proclip phone mount install:
Mounting Accessories┬*Gap opener tool, big.┬*240411┬*|┬*Brodit nothing fancy needed at all. A flat headed screwdriver would work i'm sure but might mar the prying surfaces.
