Re: 2011-2012 Durango - brochures, manuals and literature
Durango has 1/2" less ground clearance but is 1 1/2" taller than a GC. The Durango is .7" narrower. Front and rear track are the same (same chassis).
Where it gets interesting is the length. Durango has the same front and rear seat legroom but has a third seat and is only 10" longer. Part of this comes from the rear cargo space and the spare tire is bottom mounted instead of inside to make room for the third seat but looking at pictures, either there is no legroom for the third seat or there is another 2-6" from "somewhere". I think they shortened/flattened the nose a little to keep the overall length under 200" (different EPA class ?). Just think the GC nose looks cleaner than the Durango. Would like to lower mine about 2", would not need so much drop on the hitch then.
Does seem amazing that the 4400 lb Jeep and the 4900 lb Dodge (curb weight) with the V6 have exactly the same highway MPG rating (23)
