Re: 2014 Durango - Features and Changes

One other Hemi difference is the steering.
The V6 has electric assisted hydraulic and the Hemi just has hydraulic.
The R/T i drove this morning had "heavier" steering which felt solid.

Yes the steering is different as well. I believe the exhaust on limited V8 and Citadel are the the same (but not 100% sure). The V6 exhaust is different though. Single exhaust on all V6's except for the Citadel which will give you dual exhaust. Also Citadel gives you heavy duty brakes. Dave nice link

I also think the limited gets the heavy duty brakes when you upgrade to the Hemi. Don't remember where i saw this, maybe on a window sticker.
I would just like to thank everyone again for their input!

Same exhaust on V8 Limited/Citadel

Thanks for your input too. I agree that in normal driving, the sound inside the R/T cabin was muted. My GL450 is coming off lease and I think the interior in the new Durango is actually nicer, more functional and has better technology (Uconnect, USB Ports, TFT display). With 3 kids and a dog, the 2nd row will have the captain's chairs. I guess full-loaded with fam and cargo, the extra power will be nice to have. I will go with the limited because we use the truck for the beach and don't want to vacuum the sand out of the perforated seats!
Its good to be 30, enjoy!
I believe if you don't get the Nappa package, the seats are not perforated. if you do get it it adds rain sensing wipers which has been nice with the current rain we're having, and ventilated seats which has been really nice on a few hot days we've had when I was in parking lots away from my garage. There are a few other things you get with the Nappa too.

I wanted but did not get the center console in the back, becasue i too have a large dog, 115 LBS and if I do have 6 people in the car i need a place where he can lay if i put down a pad.normally though I hammock the back and he chills there.

I Have a business and sometimes need to put down all the seats and carry some boxes. The other day I had around 700Lbs in there and didn't even feel a difference in the drive, pretty amazing.

This is Wally, He loves to shed all over my new car, so i have since invested in a 12V dustbuster with attachments.

The Nappa is an optionon the R/T. When you go form the Limited to the Citadel, you get the perf. seats.

Hammock the back?

You are right, you will get the upgraded brakes with the Hemi, also, the exuast is the same on all models.

With the Hemi you automatically get the dual exhaust upgrade. you can also pay for the upgrade in the limited with the V6 but you get the dual exhaust no matter what with the citadel and obviously with the R/T as it only comes in Hemi.

I cover the seats and then I put something like this down...

Single exhaust on Limited V6. No upgrade or option for dual.
Dual exhaust on Citadel V6 and Rallye.

Dual exhaust on HEMI models.

Re: 2014 Durango - Features and Changes

Got it on the Hammock. very useful, thanks.

Regarding the exhaust, others have posted the exhaust on the Limited/Citadel is different/quieter than on the R/T.

So, based on the last several posts, I will order the Hemi because:

PROS
1. Upgrade to heavy duty brakes
2. Upgrade to Dual Exhaust (on Limited)
3. ZF built transmission
4. Hydraulic Steering (more solid feeling maybe?)
5. More sophisticated AWD system
6. More power on demand

CONS
1. Worse fuel economy
2. Some additional maintenance
3. Slightly higher monthly payment

Did I miss anything?
