Ordered my Citadel AWD today and got a VON so that must mean the order banks are open I'd assume. They still could not get the Deep Cherry Red color to show as a choice so I reluctantly picked the Sandstone Pearl.

Still no pricing yet on my Priced Order Confirmation (POC) sheet. Also it says the Customer Preferred Package 23J has a restriction but I don't know what that means yet.

Citadel AWD 3.6L
Black/Tan
2nd row Captain Chairs
Trailer Tow Group

Sorry to interupt the 2014 thread again, but the traffic all seems to be here.

I finally called the dealer that's an hour from me that has the 2013 Durango we want (options, color, etc).

The internet salesman I've been trying to work with over mail, and whoonly seems to respond in the middle of the night (they must be automated emails), says the dealership's policy is to not discuss pricing over the phone or email.

He can make an appointment for me with one of the sales managers, and because they the largest dealer (blah blah) they have the gauranteed best pricing.

Sounds like a red flag to me to get you into the dealership....

Thoughts? And if it is a red flag, where does that leave me?

With dealer number 1 and the disinterested salesman, or dealer number 2 that didn't seem to want to negotiate off their first number.

First post oh yeah! It seems like this website is the only place I have found most recent and up to date information. Funny thing tho is its a jeep forum.... but I dont care because its very informative! So I see the pricing has just been listed but I do not see anything on the rallye yet? I am most likely going to end up getting a 3.6 limited or rallye. (I really want a R/T, but the wife says..."we can't afford that" even tho we could.) We are expecting are 2nd child this Friday coming up so I think she is just panicking but I guess we will find out soon enough. So is the rallye going to be a add on to the sxt like last years model? Or is it in its own package? Im going to be sad to see my 08 sunburst orange caliber srt4 go, but I am a big technology freak and the 8.4 uconnect and the 7"tft display has me ready to make the move! Who is a pumped up guy right now.... This guy!

The Durango is based on, and built at the same plant as the Grand Cherokee

So I see the pricing has just been listed but I do not see anything on the rallye yet?
Look under "SXT" for the Rallye package.

#571 ·
The only reason that I asked about the rallye being a add on package is because when I called dodge to find out more information after the press release she said to go to this website for the most recent information http://media.chrysler.com/newsroom.do?id=25&mid=287 . If you go down on the right side it gives the 14 specs, and the 14 feature availability. When you open it, it appears that the rallye is a seperate model

#579 ·
The only reason I ask is because when I called dodge after the press release she told me to go to... for the most reacent info. If you scroll down on the right in the last box, there are 2 2014 links one for specs and one for feature availability and the list the rallye as a seperate model.
Those same files were posted here quite awhile ago, they are at the end of post # 1 in this thread.

While they list the Rallye separately in those documents, it is not really considered a separate model, but rather a package that is added to the SXT model. They list it separately to make it easier to compare features and options.

Do I have this right?

A 2014 Limited AWD at invoice prices out as follows
36704 base vehicle
886 tow
975 sun
797 nav/lift
1064 safety
40426

which is a few hundred less then a similar 2013 Crew (once delivery is added).

With an affiliate program I could expect about 2% under invoice?

Starting to wonder if we should wait, but still no idea how good of a deal I can get on a 2013 :-(

Might depend on where you go....at least 5 to 7% below invoice apparently in certain locations. Can you go to Virginia or TX or DC? Might be worth holding out for the 8 speed tranny, or so I'm hoping.

Thanks everyone for the wealth of knowledge on this site. I've been watching this thread for a while now waiting for the pricing and am glad there hasn't been too much of an increase.

I'm narrowing down my choices and the Durango is pretty much at the top of my list. Looked at the new MDX but couldn't justify the price difference with the poor 3rd row space and lack of AC vents in the back (the only AC vents for the entire 2nd and 3rd rows are the 2 in the back of the center console) which won't work for us down in Texas! The infiniti JX has crazy deals right now and is close to the price range of the Durango but I can't get past the lack of power, CVT trans, and for me the styling (wife doesn't mind it though and this car will be her daily driver). The technology on the JX is great though.

Really, the challenge to the Durango is a slightly used Infiniti QX56. While still more expensive than the Durango, that thing is a beast!

Our 2nd child is on the way, hence looking at bigger vehicles, and should arrive in mid-Novenber. I'm just not sure I can wait until then for the rear entertainment package is available, but I really want that option. Might have to wait it out though and look for used QX's in the meantime.

Laurel, I live in the Houston area. Can you PM me the contact info for the rep/dealer you've been working with? With all of the trouble everyone has been experiencing, I'd like to know who to go to.

Thanks, Rob

Lol...I had it narrowed down to the same three vehicles...and ruled the MDX and JX out for similar reasons to yours. One of the features I want is adaptive cruise. To get it on the MDX you need to go with the Advanced package...and then add on a couple more accessories to get it to look the way I would want and the MDX ends up almost $10K more than the Durango. I didn't realize the lack of rear vents though! I ruled it out on price alone.

And the JX tech is indeed cool (the 360 top-view camera is slick.) I wasn't thrilled about it's driving performance however. I actually didn't mind the CVT itself...it was more the overall ride. Wife did like the fact you could get dual sunroofs though. Wish you could get the panoramic sunroof on the D.

Really, the challenge to the Durango is a slightly used Infiniti QX56. While still more expensive than the Durango, that thing is a beast!
Love the interior...hate, hate, hate the exterior styling! I just can't get past it.

Our 2nd child is on the way, hence looking at bigger vehicles...
Our two children are growing up (11 and 13), so looking at downsizing from a minivan. :)

One other vehicle that would have gotten our consideration is the 2014 Toyota highlander. It's larger than the '13 (though I think still a little smaller than the Durango), will have adapative cruise as an option. The really nice feature is the second row seating. You can get captains chairs with a removable / stowable center tray / console of sorts.

The new highlander won't be available until early '14 however.

That being said, if Dodge doesn't hurry up and get the models with the DVD system delivered by November, it may force me to wait and see what the Highlander will bring....

Hi All, Great thread, so much information.
I am looking at a Citadel V6 AWD or Limited AWD with the Premium & Saftey/Security packages.

The invoice for the Citadel is $1,376 more but you get:
Perforated Leather Seats with ventilation
Dual Exhaust Tips
Heavy Duty Brakes
Leather Inserts on door panels
Polished Aluminum wheels (15-spoke)

Does anyone know the difference in performance with the
Heavy Duty Brakes?

Do the dual exhaust tips improve overall performace/sound of the engine?

Is the perforated nappa leather more durable than the capri leather and do the venitlated seats work?

BUT, the Limited with the Saftey/Security Package comes with Blind-Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Detection.
To get that on the Citadel you have to order the Technology Group for $1,995 and that comes with the Active Cruise Control.

The invoice difference is then $3,116.

Has anyone tried the Active Cruise Control?
I personally do not think I will get a lot of use out of it, but really think the Blind Spot Monitoring could be nice for everyday driving.

Lastly, the 20" wheels with the Limited have 5 spoke (easier to clean) and there is a little less chrome. So I find myself leaning towards the Limited.

Any thoughts/comments/feedback woudl be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Heavy Duty Brakes?
Can't comment on that myself.

Do the dual exhaust tips improve overall performace/sound of the engine?
Probably minimal if anything. I'm guessing it's essentially for aesthetics. This is the first year that the V6 gets dual exhaust at any trim level. I think it's the same for the Jeep Grand Cherokee, so if you want to test drive / hear the exhaust, you can drive a '14 V6 Laredo (single exhaust), vs. a '14 vs. Overland.

Is the perforated nappa leather more durable than the capri leather and do the venitlated seats work?
I am told the ventilated seats work very well. Don't know about durability, but the perforated leather looks nicer (IMO).

Has anyone tried the Active Cruise Control?
Jeep grand Cherokees are just starting to be delivered with the same Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop that the Durango will have. Limited reports give it the thumbs up.

Lastly, the 20" wheels with the Limited have 5 spoke (easier to clean) and there is a little less chrome. So I find myself leaning towards the Limited.
I'm going with the Citadel because I want the V-6, and I want adaptive cruise...Citadel is the only trim level that can have both.

I'm not sure about the 15 spoke 20" wheels that come with the Citadel trim though...will have to see it in person before I decide to possibly replace them with something else...

So, my situation (predicament??) has changed.

I discovered late yesterday that my employer is a supplier affiliate with Chrysler, and I've obtained a control number.

Trying to decide now between a 2013 or seeing what the numbers would be for a similar 2014 and getting in line for one of those.

I think we've also decided to go for the captains/console option, so I have so more searching to do for a 2013.

Can I discuss pricing for a 2013 and a 2014 with a dealer under the same control number, or once they give me a price for a vehicle I'm locked into that? I only have access to two control numbers per year.

Thanks.

Can I discuss pricing for a 2013 and a 2014 with a dealer under the same control number, or once they give me a price for a vehicle I'm locked into that? I only have access to two control numbers per year.

Thanks.
Not sure where you are geographically, but if you contact Mark in Houston I feel certain he would give you the straight scoop on price 2013 vs 2014 and don't think you would be locked into anything.

Got my order tracking email from Dodge. I ordered last Friday and Monday morning I got it with the last 8 digits of my VIN they say. I thought it might take longer. I signed up for MOTS tracking but it's still nice and exciting to see it confirmed on Dodge's VOT page to make sure they got my order right.

It's been 2 years in the making. At the 2012 NY auto show I fell in love with the Mercedes GL and swore to get it. I had a 2014 on order but canceled a few months ago. My parents got an ML and after spending weeks with it setting it up for them I couldn't stand the MB system with no touch screen. Way too many menus to use their little jog dial interface thingy, it was so frustrating. I thought I'd get used to it but it only pissed me off the more I used it. I then learned about the Uconnect system and sat in a '14 GC to play with it and was in awe. After that I knew my only choice was the Durango for the room and new Uconnect and dash system. I'm so happy my 2 year wait is almost over.

Same timing for me of order placement and email arrival from Dodge. Yep, I'm excited!

When exactly does is a control number from an affiliate program considered to be "used"?

I'd like to work with a dealer (VA/DC area) to get an idea of what pricing on a 2014 will look like, but if it doesn't work out do I lose that control number?

Thanks

Gotta love snaky dealers...

I happened to call the dealer we visited about 10 days ago and got no where. Of course, the salesman was out sick. Thirty minutes later I get a call from someone asking how my experience was.

She puts me on hold for 10 minutes to get a manager to talk to me. Of course, the have to call me back.

Guy calls back - tell him we wanted to add a couple of options, I tell him I work for an affiliate. Of course he wants me to come in (tonight!). I said I'm not coming back in until I hear some numbers. I'm an affiliate it should be pretty simple.

He wants the control number because there are different "levels" of pricing (not sure I buy that). I told him my employer was a "supplier" affiliate. He's going to have the salesman work up some numbers and get back to me.

Something tells me we're not buying from that place.

Pricing (both MSRP and Invoice) is in Post # 1 of this thread. ALL dealers have this pricing.

PROOF that orders are being taken is in the Durango tracking thread, several members here have placed orders for 2014 Durangos and ALL of them have been issued VON's AND VIN's.

At the very beginning of this thread I think you can find model and option pricing which should put you in the ballpark. Went through very similar frustrations until this forum led me to a no BS dealer in Houston. Cast your net wider via website contact opportunities, and get an affiliate control number for a better deal.

I wouldn't call my situation a predicament, and I haven't (obviously) even looked into yet, but is employee family pricing better than supplier pricing? I qualify for both, and had always assumed my uncle working for Chrysler would yield a better result the price I pay for a Citadel versus being able to get supplier pricing.

Obviously I'll look into it, but anyone know off the top of their head?

I just got back from vacation and am glad to see that some of you got your orders in Friday or over the weekend. Talking with my wife on the flight down to Key West, she thinks the rear DVD is a good idea so it looks like I'll be waiting (JoeyD - am I joining you in the wait?). I *think* I found a good dealer to work with. Met with their internet person and the sales manager briefly before I left for vacation. I'm encouraged by what they said and hope they can deliver on it.

Milous, thank you for getting the pricing out... and for everything else you do for us!

Well, I used Dodge's inventory search and checked every dealer within a 200 mile radius. Not one has a 2013 Crew equipped how we want it (after deciding to add the captains chairs/console) :(

So we either stick with the bench...or hope the numbers work out on the 2014 and I can convince my wife that ordering/waiting is the way to go.

Sigh....
