I thought I replied to this last night but maybe I must have botched something up.

Yeah, I'm a little perplexed that dealers aren't being more creative when somebody clearly is clearly ready to buy/order.

Yes, the new Limited is similar to the previous Crew. The biggest differences between the Citadel and the Limited are the Limited has less chrome, the Limited is a step down on the leather (not the ventilated Nappa leather), the Limited doesn't have the sunroof standard, the Limited doesn't have the HID/bi-xenon standard (contradicting info on whether any 2014 model Durango has bi-xenon, meaning both low and high beam, or just low beam) and the Limited has 18" wheels versus the Citadel's 20" wheels.

I think I prefer the 18" because there are very few tire choices in the Durango's 20" size and quite a few choices for the 18". I do a lot of driving so I go through some tires. Prices aren't significant between the 18" and 20" though.

Try this thread:
Texas folks group buy?

Lots of buys in there and some folks you can PM for details on both group buys and their experiences.

As for the JGC, yeah, JNAP can't crank em out fast enough.

Great explanation of the difference, Fireman. Thx for that. Haven't had a speck of chrome on a vehicle for years. Current SUV is monochromatic bumper to bumper, with black, tan and wood trim inside. The first time the blinding Dallas sun hits some of that Citadel chrome I might be mighty sorry. I DO like those ventilated seats, though

It will be interesting to track your dealer adventures, as we do seem to be meeting with similar frustrations in our attempts to hand over $$ for a vehicle that will come with no carrying costs to said dealer. I'd sure like to have a finalized negotiation by August 9, but I won't be holding my breath. Now I'm off to check out a link from Temerarius.

I'm not sure what you and your hubby have in mind for color but one of my neighbors just got a black 2013 Durango Citadel and it is certainly a gorgeous combination with that chrome. Not that I'm suggesting a black SUV or a black SUV in Texas though, just an observation!

I looked at that link Temerarious posted and wish I was near Texas.

Texas is the deal breaker on a gorgeous black Citadel.....oh, that, and general laziness (don't want to have to wash it as often as needed to keep it turning heads). Also, Dallas seems like the land of flying concrete and never ending road work.....can't imagine the road wear that would quickly show up on a black vehicle. I've even taken notice of a couple of white ones (what? ), but alas, we will likely go with something we deem as practical and low maintenance (read ho hum). Currently thinking billet silver with the black/light frost beige interior. My 14 year old millenium silver 4Runner LTD still looks pretty sharp, thanks to occasional detailing and a concerted effort to avoid doorbangers....my running boards insure lower vehicles fare worse than me. I have an aunt and uncle in Houston I've been meaning to visit for awhile.......

If you are willing to make a little drive, there's a DC group buy it looks like.

DC metro area group buy

Does anyone know why this would be the case? We can live without it, but I'd prefer to have it.
Update on this. I wrote Chrysler, and the rep indicated that this package is NOT available. They have not responded to me about how to get rain-sensitive wipers or blind-spot monitoring on a 2014 Limited. Does anyone know?

It is listed as an option in the media guide.

A couple other notable or not so notable differences depending on your wants/needs:

There is some tech not available even as an option on the Limited: adaptive cruise with stop being the most notable.

On the Citadel, you get dual exhaust with either the v-6 or the Hemi. With the Limited only the Hemi gets dual exhaust.
