I think we've also decided to go for the captains/console option, so I have so more searching to do for a 2013.

Can I discuss pricing for a 2013 and a 2014 with a dealer under the same control number, or once they give me a price for a vehicle I'm locked into that? I only have access to two control numbers per year.

Thanks.
Not sure where you are geographically, but if you contact Mark in Houston I feel certain he would give you the straight scoop on price 2013 vs 2014 and don't think you would be locked into anything.

I'm in NJ, so Houston is a bit far...I wouldn't want to waste his time WGN there's no chance for a sale. Thanks for the nam though.

You could try Bill Daley at Nielsen Dodge in East Hanover. He had no problems placing my order for a '14 back in July, and then placing a new order (because I wanted a change in color) this past weekend. There is a fair amount of '13 Durangos in stock between the Nielsen Dodge lot, and the Dover Dodge lot....though I haven't dealt with anyone over at Dover.

If you're shopping for a '13, best bet is to use Dodge's new car finder and look for one that has the trim / color you want...

Re: 2014 Durango - Features and Changes

Got my order tracking email from Dodge. I ordered last Friday and Monday morning I got it with the last 8 digits of my VIN they say. I thought it might take longer. I signed up for MOTS tracking but it's still nice and exciting to see it confirmed on Dodge's VOT page to make sure they got my order right.

It's been 2 years in the making. At the 2012 NY auto show I fell in love with the Mercedes GL and swore to get it. I had a 2014 on order but canceled a few months ago. My parents got an ML and after spending weeks with it setting it up for them I couldn't stand the MB system with no touch screen. Way too many menus to use their little jog dial interface thingy, it was so frustrating. I thought I'd get used to it but it only pissed me off the more I used it. I then learned about the Uconnect system and sat in a '14 GC to play with it and was in awe. After that I knew my only choice was the Durango for the room and new Uconnect and dash system. I'm so happy my 2 year wait is almost over.

Same timing for me of order placement and email arrival from Dodge. Yep, I'm excited!

I tell this to people all the time... why spend the extra money on such a completely hard to use system. Mercedes used to be the standard in vehicle technology and now they are dark ages.

I think their safety tech is still the best but dear god their interface and ergonomics are total crap. I can get 2.5 Durangos for the price I was going to spend on that MB, one will do though. I'm thrilled to have the D and all the saved money.

Anyone know if BMW replaced that horrid iDrive system? I played around with a BMW about 4 years ago and that system nearly drove me into a rage the likes of which only the Hulk could understand.

Re: 2014 Durango - Features and Changes

When exactly does is a control number from an affiliate program considered to be "used"?

I'd like to work with a dealer (VA/DC area) to get an idea of what pricing on a 2014 will look like, but if it doesn't work out do I lose that control number?

Thanks

I'm no expert but I don't think so. My deal is done, and I don't think I will have to present until I complete the purchase when I pick up the vehicle. My sales person never asked for it, and even made a comment about it being good for up to a year (?)

Only used when you order the car. When shopping prices I just told them I had it but only gave the number when I actually ordered. When you get your number it is good for 1 year and you get 2 numbers per year.

I got 3% under invoice but I think someone else got 5% under invoice to give you an idea.

Re: 2014 Durango - Features and Changes

I have been told by several dealers in the St. Louis area, the 2014 Durango is not available to order yet. Could some please tell me where they ordered there's from.
