  • If you live in Virginia/DC, contact Nader at Koons. I spoke with him and corresponded via e-mail. He is pretty responsive.
  • Get a Chrysler Affiliate number! Do a search in this thread for details.
I'm a firm believer in that everything happens for a reason. I didn't know Century even existed in July when order banks first opened. The safety package wasn't available in July when I was trying to talk to the other dealers. I think I'll like that package so I'm glad things worked out the way they did. I'm still shocked by those other dealers, however.

Now, is it October yet?
I can second the experience with Century Dodge. Working with Traci and Johhny has been first rate, as has been their used car manager Mark.

They've both been more responsive than any dealer closer to me than they happen to be.

I've had dealers tell me
- the best they could do was the affiliate price (two dealers)
- one that never returned a phone call or emails with a quote on a 2014
- another that told me MSRP on a Limited AWD with the options I wanted was over $47k (I priced it at an MSRP of $44.7k using the numbers from here). When I pushed back I was simply told that was the best they could do (affiliate was still over $44k)
- at least two others that wouldn't discuss any numbers over the phone

Now I just need my wife to make a decision. The Durango is currently significantly cheaper than the 2013 Acadia deal we have in place.

A great deal? I thought I was special!

Just kidding. I wouldn't steer anybody wrong. I'm glad you're finding your experience similar to mine.

Cheaper than the Acadia is great news. Is she still doing the Yukon experiment?

Here's the best way I think I can address the "feel" between the her current vehicle and the Acadia & Durango:
I used to drink regular Coke. A good bit of it.
One day, I decided I liked the thought of Diet Coke and its 0 calories so I switched. I didn't like Diet Coke as much at first but the caffeine still did the trick.
I then was at a picnic or something and they only had Coke. No problem - I used to drink it all the time.
It tasted like motor oil to me! I didn't care for it at all. I was more used to the Diet Coke at that point.

Now, I'd certainly feel horrible if I'm wrong but I think she would get used to the different feel of the Durango pretty quick.

In order to prevent the soda/obesity lectures from the masses, I mostly drink water now. (I'm used to that now too!)

Still, not an easy decision for her I'm sure. I admire your patience. Nobody (that I know of) likes uncertainty. Thanks for the update and I'm glad you're able to echo my sentiments about Traci and Johnny at Century Dodge.

She's been driving it to/from work everyday this week which is only a few miles each way. Today she had to head down to Cape May for work, and took the Yukon partly to keep the miles off the Honda, and partly to get used to "not the van".

Nice analogy. We're both primarily water drinkers too.

I think so too.

Thanks, and thanks again to you for the tip on Century.

Me too! The dates seem to change faster than the weather.

Re: 2014 Durango - Features and Changes

I noticed that the safety/security/convenience group isn't listed as an option for the R/T.
Quote:
Safety, Security and Convenience Group Includes cargo cover and net, rain-sensitive wipers, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, Blind-spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection, auto high beam headlamps and low beam HID auto-leveling headlamps (Limited)

For the Limited:
AWC Safety/Security & Convenience Group ($1195 / $1064)
The R/T includes the HID headlamps and per post #1 power tilt/tele steering column (though '14 spec sheet differs), so is pricing the same and is there some reason SSCG isn't listed as an option?

You need to get the tech package and the Nappa Leather group to get those options.

I actually read the thread every day, and must have totally missed that.

Thanks, even though that sucks.

The features that I want to add are the rain-sensitive wipers and auto high beam. Doing what you said gets me adaptive cruise (don't want) and Nappa means that I would no longer be able to fold the front passenger flat in the event of large/long cargo (and the rear glass doesn't open). The extra cost for options not desired doesn't sit right and the Nappa includes the power tilt/tele yet specs of R/T below the packages suggests that it itself includes the power steering column (I think that might be incorrect based on Dodge spec sheet).

So in short, base on what you have said I will have to spend $1800 more than the SSCG and end up with options I don't want just to add rain-sensitive wipers and auto high beams. What is odd is that Dodge literature shows the SSCG as an option for the Limited and R/T.

Add in the fact that I have to have hand over another $4-500 just to get the same wheels painted a different color. If the '13 just didn't have the six speed...

Re: 2014 Durango - Features and Changes

Hey guys..

This is my first post..
I've been waiting for this car since december 2012 when I first heard that dodge might change it.. and been following this thread for a while now..

my problem is that I'm from Saudi Arabia.. and I have to wait for our crapy dodge agent to recieve their first shipment in order to place an order..

I'm planning for the top trim full option and as it has been said here I think m gonna wait till November for that to arrive..

can anyone give me any further details..??
