Re: 2014 Durango - Features and Changes

Dealer is offering the addl option at no cost to me because the restriction want in place.

Starting to sound plausible..

If true can the subwoofer be removed? Wife needs that full storage compartment.

I ordered a Limited with Nav/towing/SSCG. The system accepted my order without any warnings. Chrysler called the dealer a few days later and said that combination wasn't possible without the premium audio. I'm not exactly sure how the system was able to take the order or what the issue was but apparently, I built the first of a kind which brought this to light. Supposedly, something has now been changed to correct/prevent that combination. Johnny was out when the call came in so the general manager of Century Dodge took the call... and decided to eat the cost since the deal on that combination was already made & accepted in the system. I got a call over the weekend from the salesman about this.

So, I now have to add Century Dodge's GM - Joe DiGiorgi to my "class act" list. They continue to go above and beyond anything I've experienced with a dealership before. I hope they are somehow able to recoup that cost from Dodge but I doubt it. It's not Century's fault and I'll try to split the cost with them. It's the right thing to do.

Premium audio now shows on my order tracking page directly from Dodge and it certainly does not appear on my accepted order print out. I call "No BS" but I remain unsure on what the conflict actually was and what was done to prevent this from happening to similar Limited Durangos.

I have to admit our local dealer shenanigans had me wondering...Century as definitely shot straight the entire time...guess your similar situation proves the truth. Be interested to see what Milous says.

They're eating the cost for me too...I think the SSCG group is to important to pass up. But that dang subwoofer steals space my wife really liked under the cargo floor. I have to wonder if it could be removed....

Argh..............

Was there a link or attachment with the compatibility?

I assumed with the Nav/lift gate package we got the premium RA4 UConnect from the factory...the PDF on page 1 ofthe thread suggests the package comes with the premium NAV.

My order is for a specific vehicle, not one in the pipeline as I haven't confirmed color choice.

Frustrated

Yes, I'm very curious to hear exactly what the conflict was. Hopefully, Milous has some insight. (As if he doesn't already have his hands full with the seat issue!) The audio definitely wasn't on my must have list. I haven't seen where the subwoofer is or how much space it occupies but I would think and hope it could be disconnected and removed.

Century has been incredible. I plan on going to the Baltimore Grand Prix this weekend. It's presented by SRT. I'm hoping I can get some kind of amazing pictures of the SRT Viper that I can have printed for the gang at Century. I took this last year and I'm hoping to get something better this year but that is far from easy on the Baltimore course without credentials:

Yes Sorry, I missed the Premium Group.... But it is ok, other than that the list I posted is correct. You still don't have to take the upgraded audio system.

Feel free to check with Milous if you like, I make mistakes sometimes, but I have no idea why they are telling you that you must take the speaker upgrade? Maybe they checked that option by mistake when they ordered.

You will need to be on a computer so see the attachement I posted in the prior post.

Half the space of the underfloor try in the cargo area. Removable? Maybe, but probably need to order the standard tray from parts.

If the sub is in there, a deal killer..the standard tray is a little bigger/deeper and nicer finished than the one in the Acadia, but with the subwoofer....no go.

They have been really great. Great shot, and enjoy the race. I need to get that on the calendar next year.

I can see it now. The chart doesn't show the SSCG though...

No order placed. They're just putting together a PO with all the numbers we've gone over in email so I have something official to go on.

I don't doubt the veracity of your info. Very confused right now especially with two of us hearing the same thing..albeit from the same dealer/source.

Right now mine is the only Limited Milous is tracking so unfortunately, I don't expect others to chime in with their ordering experience with the Limited.

Re: 2014 Durango - Features and Changes

I know this isn't comparing apples to apples but I just went on Edmunds.com and selected a 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited (The 2014 Durango is still not configurable on there.) If I select the UConnect with Nav option and then select Advanced Technology Group (similar to Durango's SSC), that combination flags a message that warns I need to switch to the more expensive Luxury II group.

There is a Premium Group that takes care of that on the Durango, so close.... but I would suggest not comparing the two. You are Correct, Milous can dig into things I cannot begin to understand, I am sure he will review but if the system is wrong that might take some searching.

Milous once amassed so much information that Google used him to search.

Stay Thirsty My Friends!

Re: 2014 Durango - Features and Changes

I was out of town for the weekend and missed your first post. Welcome. I certainly don't have any answers or insight for you but I am also not clear on what you are asking. Could you clarify the question in case somebody has an answer?
