To be fair, this is a feature as well as a change. The car has been out now and all changes and features are now known for the most part so should this thread close?

I don't really care about the Screen tech as i'm not getting it but i don't mind other people discussing it. we are on here to hear about peoples opinions about the features and changes as well as to learn news on the subject matter.

If you would like to move on, say something that will move the conversation forward, not knock someone else's conversation because you can't relate to it.

Re: 2014 Durango - Features and Changes

This is a high resolution image of an actual display for the Blu-Ray DVD system. It was taken with an 18 megapixel SLR camera. Resize this image on a good computer screen at 9" and position away from yourself as if it is the rear screen display. It is a Blu-Ray playing, you be the judge of the quality. You will note an extremely high color depth not seen in competitor displays. The camera does show the pixels in a way that is more visible than the actual display.

High Resolution (10mb)

I can relate to it fine, this is one of the cores of my business. We just were getting off the topic with the discussion of the batteries in the Tesla... or do you disagree?

Re: 2014 Durango - Features and Changes

Soo.... what's this dust up about?

The pricing on the BluRay displays?

My 12 year old and 5 year old don't care about resolution, they just want to watch Cartoons while we're on a long drive.

It's not like we're doing surgery with these things...

That said, I opted for 2 Kindle Fire HDs and a nice mount (removable).

Total investment, $350, and because I'm a Prime member, I can stream videos and games for free.

/shrug

Different strokes, different folks. I was not interested in dropping $2k+ on something like this (when I can get something or better for about a 80% savings).

Carry on...

Well, that definitely helps a lot. Only remaining question is when I can order a Durango with it. Checking freakin donlen every day is driving me. crazy. Damn you new car itch.

If 10/1 comes and goes, I'll order without the DVD system.

Thanks Milious. Curious, what was the input source, Bluray, DVD, HDMI, other? Colors look great. Pixel test has flaws but even with that blows away a Highlander I was recently driving.

I believe he said Blu-Ray. I downloaded the High Res link and resized it to 9" in Office photo editor and it looks even better than the small picture in the post. Sure you can see some pixels (I am sitting about 18" from my monitor) but the quality of the skin tones and details is pretty nice!

Hi Res (takes a while to download) http://www.wk2jeeps.com/2014/2014_WK...d_003_High.jpg

Well, (if history is a guide), the next new order allocations without restrictions would open up around October 9th. In other words, even if they do start producing DVDs on Cct 1, you may not be able to order until the 9th or so. I would PM Milous and find out for sure if he's aware of when any DVD ordering restrictions are planned to be lifted.

If it does (and you want the DVD) you may need to be quick and place your order within the first few days of when the restrictions lift...to make sure you get in prior to any additional restrictions (on the DVD or in general on the trim / options you want) are placed.

Good luck!
