See? There are upsides to all kinds of features combos. Of course, if my husband wants to add a kayak to his sporting goods warehouse I guess he will have to tow it

I'm thinking (wishful thinking, perhaps) that we will have the Durango as long or longer than our Dallas address. In the meantime I will be spending some time north of TX with my parents. Know their winter weather will enable me to enjoy the heated steering wheel, and all of us will enjoy the seats. Like you, we've turned on heated seats before to take the chill off....and, due to our advanced age, we've also used them to help with back and hip pain on long journeys......how pathetic.

Yep - which is why I was more than happy with the choice of Limited. Gain one thing lose another. Which is more valuable? Only time will tell.

That means I wouldn't get my Durango until 1st half of January. What to do, what's to do. I can wait that long, but I really don't want to.
I became completely deflated when I saw this post (and still am), as I'm sure others waiting for the DVD like me were/are. Has there been any clarity/update regarding the 11/18 date?

I believe Milous is looking into this already (as it relates to multiple products)

Just confirmed, another delay, 11/18 is correct .

Usually, I would try my best to post some kind of witty or sarcastic response. But I'm simply too depressed to bother.

The worst part is, I have zero confidence that this new date is in any way firm. Why should anyone?

Really Chrysler? I placed an order in July for this...and delivery will be by Christmas..if I'm lucky?!

Thanks as always for keeping us informed, Milous. (Seriously, it's appreciated.)

Thanks for the update, Milous. This new is very disheartening. I spoke with my dealer today about this delay--which was of course unconfirmed at the time--and was told that I could remove the DVD option from my order. Not sure if this is true (I'm "Production Scheduled" in VOTS) or if I would have to re-order altogether. My dealer also said there is a possibility that I could even still add an option, as my vehicle does not have a set build date.

Does anyone have any insight into this?

JoeyD... I ordered 8/9; you having ordered in July I can only imagine the levels of depression/frustration you must be experiencing...

I technically have 2 on order. One was the day after the order banks opened in July. I wanted to change the color a couple weeks later, but was told the order could not be changed after it went to D status and was assigned a VIN ("Production scheduled").

Which is quite ironic now considering the delays, how fast it went to d status and the original order could not be changed.

So I ended up placing a second order about the same day you did (after restrictions on the citadel trim were lifted). Both vehicles are in limbo.

MOTS makes a distinction between Pre Release and D1 status though, when VOTS lists both as "scheduled for production". Maybe changes are still possible in pre-release, or maybe certain items can be removed (like dvd), whereas paint color cannot be changed.

What's really frustrating...is I've been doing all my research and keeping tabs on the '14 WK2 and Durango platform and competitors for well over a year. (Even back to when it was thought we might have a Grand Wagoneer available at this time). Knew exactly what I wanted (well, except for color) so I was able to place an order on Day 1. This way I could have it in the Summer or early fall...well in advance of my 2000 mile round trip to the in-laws for Thanksgiving. At the time of ordering, there were no known restrictions on the DVD, and it's something our family really wants.

Now Chrysler still has my $1000 deposit, and I will need to sink at least $500-$600 I was not planning to spend on the minivan to ensure it's road worthy for the trip.

I'm considering renting a vehicle now for the trip, but that will likely be just as expensive or moreso vs. the maintenance / repairs.

We'll probably also plan on a x-mas week trip to Vermont for some Skiing...I have zero confidence the D will be delivered in time for that either.

Sorry for the little rant here folks...just need to vent a little....I'm still so farkin' pissed....

Is anyone aware of what the latest Uconnect software is? Is it 13.33.7?

This is somewhat in flux at the moment:

I have read that the Durangos are currently shipping with 13.33.7.

Jeep Grand Cherokees are currently shipping with 13.31.X. However, 13.31.X is still not generally available to dealers or to the public to update their units with. So the latest official "upgrade" for the JGC is still 13.19.

I'm guessing that 13.33.7 is more or less the same as 13.31. At some point, Chryco should be merging the code base so that the same uconnect software is available for all models with the same system (some RAM trucks, Jeep Grand Cherokee and now Durango).

That all being said, I would not expect an upgrade from 13.33.7 to be available for probably at least 3 months. But Willx is "the man" here when it comes to Uconnect.

If you become a Jeep Garage subscriber, you'll have access to the uConnect forums where we generally get the inside scoop on this stuff...

Question best asked of Willx...maybe he'll see this and respond. I know for the JGC its 13.31.6, but that was just released to dealers (based on a VIP area post).
