I'm guessing that 13.33.7 is more or less the same as 13.31. At some point, Chryco should be merging the code base so that the same uconnect software is available for all models with the same system (some RAM trucks, Jeep Grand Cherokee and now Durango).

That all being said, I would not expect an upgrade from 13.33.7 to be available for probably at least 3 months. But Willx is "the man" here when it comes to Uconnect.

If you become a Jeep Garage subscriber, you'll have access to the uConnect forums where we generally get the inside scoop on this stuff...

This way I could have it in the Summer or early fall...well in advance of my 2000 mile round trip to the in-laws for Thanksgiving. At the time of ordering, there were no known restrictions on the DVD, and it's something our family really wants.

Now Chrysler still has my $1000 deposit, and I will need to sink at least $500-$600 I was not planning to spend on the minivan to ensure it's road worthy for the trip.

I'm considering renting a vehicle now for the trip, but that will likely be just as expensive or moreso vs. the maintenance / repairs.

We'll probably also plan on a x-mas week trip to Vermont for some Skiing...I have zero confidence the D will be delivered in time for that either.

Sorry for the little rant here folks...just need to vent a little....I'm still so farkin' pissed....
Given how carefully you researched and planned and chose what was best for your family, and given how long you will likely have to continue to wait, I don't think this was much of a rant. I was told my deposit was fully refundable if I changed my mind. Perhaps yours is if you want out all together.....but I suspect you don't. You are really over a barrel, so to speak, and I'm sorry for how frustrated you must feel. Do you ever peruse the diesel threads and are you familiar with Shannon and his saga? Surely there should be a support group thread....or is that what all of these are in one way or another? Hang in there.

Hey, I'm right there with you! (minus the 2000 mile road trip)

My wife and I the talk last night about whether or not to drop the DVD. For what it's worth, we decided to stick with our order. Tablets for the kids won't work - we need the dvd's, and we want them built in.

We've already waited over a year for this vehicle. I guess now we will be waiting a little longer. Once we have the vehicle, I am sure we will soon forget about the wait. If we would drop the DVD and compromise on our expectations, we'd be reminded of that each time we drive the vehicle.

Just hoping it does not get delayed any further.

Yup...the problem with researching and then ordering exactly the vehicle you want...is that it's exactly the vehicle you want.

Yup, and I remember how badly I felt (still feel) for them as a group. Aren't they all still being held-up en masse for some Diesel marekting launch, even though many have been built for like a month now and just sitting there waiting to be shipped? Except for Shannon's, who's up to about 3000 coats of paint at this point?

Same here.

Amen. All I know is when the vehicle comes in, I am going over it with a fine toothed comb and it's getting * every single issue * I can find wrong with it addressed....before I take formal delivery. After waiting this long, I will wait even a little longer and not "live with" the slightest wheel shimmy, fitment issue or paint blemish.

The only possible consolation is that by the time we take delivery (Winter) there will hopefully be pretty good incentives.

Which is quite ironic now considering the delays, how fast it went to d status and the original order could not be changed.

So I ended up placing a second order about the same day you did (after restrictions on the citadel trim were lifted). Both vehicles are in limbo.

MOTS makes a distinction between Pre Release and D1 status though, when VOTS lists both as "scheduled for production". Maybe changes are still possible in pre-release, or maybe certain items can be removed (like dvd), whereas paint color cannot be changed.
Thanks for your insight. And yes, with the delays how quickly things progressed early on is very ironic. At this point I'm conflicted as to whether or not to drop the DVD, but am leaning toward dropping it. Does anyone know what happens if the screen were to crack, or if the DVD player/inputs malfunction--would something like that be covered by warranty?

Based on my past experience if you had a problem with the player/inputs during warranty, they should be covered, but you'd need to check the warranty for specifics.

If the screen cracked? Good question....

EDIT: This is from the 2013 Warranty Book

2.1 Basic Limited Warranty
A. Who Is Covered?
You are covered by the Basic Limited Warranty if you
are a purchaser for use of the vehicle.
B. What’s Covered
The Basic Limited Warranty covers the cost of all parts
and labor needed to repair any item on your vehicle
when it left the manufacturing plant that is defective in
material, workmanship or factory preparation. There is
no list of covered parts since the only exception are tires
and Unwired headphones.

Right, the 36,000 mile 3 year basic (bumper to bumper) would cover it as long as the crack is not due to abuse. I don't know how one could prove or disprove how exactly a screen cracked...(abuse or manufacture defect).

Also, if you purchase a "Maximum Care" service contract, that will also cover "Rear Seat Video Systems (Factory Installed)" for the term of the contract.

I really wanted the DVD too, but there are just too many alternatives for my family to justify the combination of price and wait. Had they been released in a reasonable period of time, I would have had no problem with the price. The dealer offered a ceiling mounted 10.2" DVD for $550 (probably junk), but I'll probably end up doing tablets at some point since they can be moved to the third row if my son or daughter decides to sit back there on a long trip, which is honestly pretty likely.

At this point, I'm honestly just mad that I've been waiting to order for no reason.

Probably junk is right, and I'd be wary of installing any aftermarket electronic stuff. I think Willx posted some info on that...

As the kids get older, I think the tablets make more sense. Its worked well for us. DVD players in our current vehicles haven't been used in years.
