Correct, I have a Limited on order and the Technology Group was not an option.

I'm sure there are small differences but some off the top of my head given that combination include:
  • The grill will be different between them - the Citadel with more chrome.
  • The Citadel will have polished chrome mirrors.
  • The Citadel will have 2 polished exhaust tips - one on each side. The Limited has a single polished tip on 1 side.
  • The Citadel has the premium Nappa ventilated leather seats.
Have you seen the specification sheet attached at the bottom of the first post in the Features and Changes thread?

(I'm not even really sure what the 60/40 split means, but I assume it means that 60 or 40% of the seat folds down, but I could be wrong).
If you put the car seat on the 40% side you will have no issues....

I second the thanks to your son-in-law, and I hope you have a wonderful visit, especially with those grandsons. I'm a Missouri native.... Are you closer to St Louis or KC?

I'll send my thanks as well!

Enjoy the visit with the family - it is, no doubt, well deserved.

Re: 2014 Durango production

Bringing this back to the Durangos, my son-in-law just got his orders to report from Japan to Newport, RI by the end of October. Given their need to rent a house, they really want to be there by the 20th or so of October. So they were looking at Durangos and decided that the wanted the 2014. I talked to the local dealer and he was rightly nervous about the time frame for an ordered Durango. They have a Harley to pick up tow on a trailer from MO to RI, so logically taking delivery here made the most sense, but it looks like buying off a dealer lot is going to be the only option. Problem is finding one. Must be v6 AWD. Daughter wants Cherry Red with BluRay, son-in-law wants the Citadel with the Tech package and they need the towing package or will need to buy a MOPAR or aftermarket receiver hitch with wiring harness.

So when these things start showing up on the dealer lots, if anyone sees that, let me know. We know we may have to go a ways to pick one up. And we also know they may have to give up on the Blu-Ray if they, if fact, don't go into production until mid-October. This was the reason though, I was asking about having the Durango delivered elsewhere. I was thinking that if they ordered exactly what they wanted for delivery in MO and if it wasn't going to make it here to MO, perhaps they could have it redirected for delivery to RI.

I have headrest DVD players in my Jeep and it becomes a pain. My 4yo daughter wants to watch movies when ever we get in the car (even to go to the grocery store) Then gets mad when we just went a few miles and its time to get out. Plus my 1yo son can't watch them for at least another year since he needs to rear facing till he's 2.

Having a few tablets is cheaper and much more flexible. At least for younger children.

My 2 cents.

I too would go the tablet route. Two iPads are less than the built in players/screens and will be more useful since they can do more than just watch movies.

We have DVD players in both current vehicles. As soon as our boys had 2nd gen iPod Touches, and now iPads (thanks to grandparents) those players haven't been used (in about 4 years now).

Re: 2014 Durango production

We're joining the line for a 2014 Durango.

Finalized the order last night, and dropped a deposit/hold check in the mail this morning.

We wound up Limited V6 AWD in Cherry Red/Frost with several of the options/packages.

I'm still waiting on the confirmation email and VON from Chrysler, but excited at the prospect of the coming Durango (and patiently waiting for MOTS updates). I'll become a site supporter here momentarily.

The experience with Century in Maryland was first rate.

Davewg, just curious as to whether you test drove the v6 and if so what'd you think of it & the 8 speed (and any one else please chime in)? I'm interested in getting the v6 too. I read in some JGC threads some grumblings about the downshifting in the eight speed v6, but not sure if it that's a real issue or not (or just folks being unnecessarily picky) & whether it's just limited to the JGC.

No, because there are no 8 speed Durangos on the ground yet.

Most of what I've read/heard is that the 8 speed with the V6 is way better than the current 5 speed. I think some if the grumbling is related to ECO mode which can be turned off. Or just shift yourself with the paddles.
