Thanks for the info, hadn't noticed the change to the 21st. I'm still contemplating whether or not I want the Rear DVD. We keep cars for quite some time and like the idea of having control over what the kids can watch (boy about to turn 3 and girl will be here in 2 months) but iPads/LeapPads, etc... make more sense from a price standpoint and to not always have a TV in the car. You know that haves screens always there could lead to potential conflict. Although I do like the fact that the screens fold down and are hidden rather than always visible in the headrest.

Will probably end up going this route very soon. Just would like to drive one first. I guess I could always place an order as long as I could get out of it without any cost

I wasn't sure if I would be happy enough with the 15 spoke design on the Citadel, but I do want a bright finish to compliment the citdel chrome. The optional R/T wheel is a combination of a bright finish with the gloss black and I think would work.

After seeing the citadel wheels in person though, I think I'll be happy enough with them to not spend any extra on changing the wheels.
I'm digging the new Citadel wheels, especially to compliment all of the additional chrome. I just love gunmetal wheels (especially to hide brake dust). My current car is silver with gunmetal wheels and I love the look, attached a pic

Good luck negotiating with Dallas dealers. That's where I'm eventually moving so I started there. They laughed when I told them the deal I was getting in Houston. That's why I am eventually heading to Houston, but unfortunately starting and returning much farther north....for awhile. Roped off on the floor? Don't I wish. Love bugs? We endured that nightmare when building a house in Florida decades ago. They were stuck in paint and we endured them on our cars every season that we lived there. Nasty b*stards. I'll add bug remover to my road trip list.

The Dodge website is very weak, IMHO. We can and have ordered 2014s, 2013s are no longer being produced, so why wasn't a seamless software update ready to roll?
Pretty crazy timing, we've PMed about your dealer experience here in Houston and once I'm ready to order I'll definitely give him a call if I can't get anywhere with the dealership that's about 15 minutes away from my house.

Regarding the love bugs, I've heard of people spraying Pam cooking spray on their bumpers before a long drive then the bugs wipe easily away. I've never tried and I don't think a fresh clear coat would do well with Pam spray in the Texas heat but who knows.

I do know of people that will cover there front bumpers and part of their hoods with painters tape to avoid the bugs and rock chips on the drive. Looks a little silly but the tape comes in lots of different colors. New paint is so soft and chips very easily plus they are doing construction on I-45 between Houston and Dallas so might want to consider it.

I'm very particular about the appearance and paint on my cars so I have paint protection film applied on my cars now. My current car I drove about 600 miles after purchasing and ended up with 2 paint chips on the hood before I got it home to get the PPF installed (full bumper, hood, headlights, side mirrors, front fenders, lower rocker panels, etc...) any its saved my car multiple times.

White is my second choice, if is was going with Citadel instead of an R/T, white would be my first. Could still decide on a white R/T if I decide I need a change from my current light silver car (to match or not to match, hmmmm). I really like Granite but don't think I want to try to keep that clean or deal with the heat given I need the black interior. 2 little kids would kill the lighter interiors.

I think it would look amazing on a lighter colored R/T to break up the monotone and match the blacked out headlight inner housing. I see some Plastidip in my future or a trip to the body shop.

I'd recommend finding a dealer that will make a deal and order your R/T. Part of what drove us to ordering a 2014 was the futility in the location process with dealers in our area. Granted the number of 2013s that fit our needs was dwindling, but between trying to work a deal and have them really look for a truck we wasted weeks where an order could have been placed. Granted we were still trying to decide between Durango and a competitor, but if you aren't, just order. Maybe start with Laurel's dealer.
Truly is a small world.

I have very particular tastes some I'm sure I'll end up placing an order. I remember reading about all of the struggles you all were going through to place orders, what a mess. I'm lucky that I found this forum, as Laura and I have already PMed about her dealer here. Once I finalize what I want to do I'll definitely contact them. It's been great to find this forum but its feeding my addiction.

Wow this is a long reply! One more thing to mention that's off topic, very cool of Immo and Vertrkr with the donation to the MS Society to settle their bet. Classy move and crazy how things come full circle. We moved to Houston for my wife's job (she's a scientist) at a small Biotech company that is developing a personalized treatment for MS. I won't go all nerdy on you all but its pretty neat stuff. Immo, check it out. The company is called Opexa Therapeutics based in the Woodlands, TX and they are in stage 2 trials. Might be of interest in the future for other family members as I believe MS is hereditary.

Fireman - I've got my fingers crossed for a mid October trip to Maryland. Oddly enough, my wife has a work trip in Baltimore mid month.
Dave, as I see more and more, I'm thinking the same about the Premium package. It is a good deal. My main objection was the 20" wheels and the fact that there are currently only about 3 tires available in that size. I went through the same thing with my Murano - there were only a couple of tire choices available for years. In hindsight, I think I'd order differently now (still not the Citadel though - that's just too much chrome for my tastes).

Hopefully, mid-October works for you. We'll know soon after you get into VOTS how deliveries are currently looking.

Tire rack has 13 a/s tires in the stock size (even more in winter and summer tire) and there are a few brands they don't stock. My Jeep SRT only has one choice in the stock size and they are over $500 each. This was something I checked before placing my order on the Durango.

You're not making me feel better about the decision! Especially because I favor the 20" wheels over the 18's. I feared the 20's would be more polished and "chromy".
I'll live with it... and I guess comfort myself in knowing the 18's are slightly cheaper. Live and learn.

Any day now for your delivery...

I wonder if its too late to make a change to the order....
Might need to go an look at that again today.

We didn't go Citadel because there were some items on it we didn't want (mainly because the 20" wheels were standard, and the perforated/ventilated seats were a worry to us from a maintenance/wear perspective.

And yeah, for us too, the chrome was not to our taste.

Sigh...to early for ordering remorse?

If you haven't gone D1 your dealer can contact the Chrysler area manager and request a change.

The Woodlands! I've been there as my company (Aon Hewitt) has an office there. An interesting part of Texas. I'd wished I had more time to explore the area when I was there back in 2009.

And good looking car. As our Durango is replacing my wife's current minivan, so too it becomes a replacement for our Yukon XL in a couple of years. That time will see me getting back into a car for the first time since '00 or so.

Thinking VW GT/IGTD, Mazada 3, Subaru something depending on what they're offering by then. Nothing like two years of obsessing over the NEXT vehicle.

Don't think I'm D1, no VON yet even. Will have to think it through closely today.

And not bummed, it really comes down to 20" wheels or not as that's the only thing not on our build that's also in the premium package (after picking up the SSCG required me to add the speaker upgrade).

Part of it for us too...my wife's job occasionally takes her off road, across fields, andone of her routes to work is a short distance on a poorly maintained gravel road. Given that, plus some of our other activities, the 18" tires and the extra sidewall height probably offers some advantage there.

Thing of it is, from a cost standpoint I'm still ahead as the dealer volunteered to eat the cost of the additional option since Chrysler changed the order requirement after we'd been given a price for the vehicle. Classy of them.
