Also wish I could have a clearcoat or Teflon or some other bug and road rash deterrent applied before I start out on my journey north. Hate to have to spend my savings on road wear before I get it home and show it off.
I may be up for a covert mission... I need to see billet silver in person anyway. I'll be out of town next week so tomorrow is probably the only day I would be able to go by.

Has the dealership confirmed its arrival? They probably wont prep it until closer to your date of pick-up though. What date are you picking it up?

On their website they have a white limited that their comments state "just arrived"... Maybe I'll see if they will let me take a test drive!

And good looking car. As our Durango is replacing my wife's current minivan, so too it becomes a replacement for our Yukon XL in a couple of years. That time will see me getting back into a car for the first time since '00 or so.

Thinking VW GT/IGTD, Mazada 3, Subaru something depending on what they're offering by then. Nothing like two years of obsessing over the NEXT vehicle.
You have got to be kidding me. Opexa is literally a stones throw away from Aon maybe a couple of hundred feet!

We like living here (just over 2 years now) but it is definitely Suburbia to the max, almost 100k people so it's pretty much its own city. Never really have to head down to Houston for much.

The Durango will replace our old Trailblazer and I hope to keep the ISF for a while until the kids get too big to fit in the back. It's already going to be tight with a 3 year old sitting behind me (I'm 6'1"). Who knows what will be out by then, maybe a Lexus GS-F if they keep up the "F" brand.

Just heard from the dealership that the billet Durango has arrived, even earlier than the revised delivery estimate. I can't get there until at least late next week, and I was promised the truck would be safeguarded....sounds to me like code for locked in a lot and washed before I arrive.

Rob, I'd say go take a look for sure, but I bet you will like the white as much or more than the billet. That would be great if you could drive it. V6 or V8? If Mark is around I feel certain he would show it to you. He's been low key and low pressure on the phone.

I've added myself to Milous' tracking thread. Hopefully he can provide a more detailed update on where I actually am.
The process will basically work like this:

1) "Production Scheduled" on VOTS translates into either "Pre-Release" or "D1" status on MOTS. It will basically just sit there in both VOTS and MOTS until the unit actually starts production. I know this because there is where my vehicle has been for a month. (I'm waiting on the DVD).

2) Once production starts, you can use VOTS to track the production process, though it's not very accurate, but this process is quick.

3) Once production ENDS...that's where MOTS really comes into play...as you track your unit from inspection all the way through to delivery.

Like we've said before - its a small world, and agree it is definitely max suburbia there.

When my group from work arrived at IAH we knew we were in Texas when our Avis rentals were two brand new (like 50 miles on them) Ford F-150s.

I sure hope I don't sit there for a month...

Thanks for the pointers on the tracking. I'm sure I'll be checking it 1000 times a day anyway.

Anybody get a factory rebate for the 2014 Durango? Know there was $500 available for the JGC, but have seen nothing offered otherwise.

Re: 2014 Durango production

I received a card in the mail offering offering a $500 factory rebate off any new 2013 or 2014 dodge vehicle. You need to take delivery by the end of September to qualify. I ordered the DVD player, so my Durango wont be delivered in time to qualify.

Was it from the dealer or dodge?

It was from dodge. Not from the dealer.

Argh. I got a brochure for a 2013 Durango but no offer, and I hope to take delivery next week. So sorry, Agonzo, that you won't be able to use it, but know your Durango will be worth the wait

Re: 2014 Durango production

This is a re-post from a few pages back. Can anybody tell me if there is any type of e-mail notification from VOTS during the build?

Otherwise, unless I check VOTS every few hours (and I will neither confirm nor deny that I do that!!!), I could miss the whole thing. Not that there's anything to see anyway since they're stock images. Regardless, what's a. . .f e w. . .m o r e. . . w e e k s ? ? ?
