I think there might be.

Yesterday I got my first email from Dodge with my VOTS link and VIN.

That email said, quote:
"Congratulations on your new Dodge purchase! Currently, we are processing your order.

You can begin tracking your new Dodge as it moves through eight stages of production by using the Vehicle Order Tracking System (VOTS).To begin tracking your vehicle, please click the link:"

It went on to state quote:
You can expect to receive another notification from us in about a week when your vehicle is scheduled for production. The VOTS will provide you access to the following stages:

1. Confirmation -> 2. Production -> 3. Frame -> 4. Paint -> 5. Trim -> 6. Final Inspection -> 7.Shipment -> 8. Delivery

I received another email from them this morning exactly 24 hrs after the first one. Today's email states, quote:

Your new Dodge is now scheduled for production. Your vehicle may reside in this status for up to two weeks as the production line is prepared for assembly. To follow your vehicle in production, please access the Vehicle Order Tracking System (VOTS) with the link provided below:

We will contact you next when your vehicle moves to frame status. At that point, you can anticipate your vehicle will move quickly through the next few stages of build. Please be patient as we work to provide you with a new Dodge built to your specifications. We sincerely appreciate your business.

Nothing updated in the MOTS thread yet, but not surprising since I don't think much happens until D1 (and it can sit there too).

I got 4 emails total from VOTS.

1. Your new vehicle order is being processed!
2. Your new vehicle is scheduled for production.
3. Your new vehicle is beginning to build.
4. Your new vehicle is built.

When I got the 3rd one I checked it immediately and it showed I was in Paint. I checked it every hour after that and it never changed until the next day and showed Shipment.

Believe I got three of the four.

Rob, I'd say go take a look for sure, but I bet you will like the white as much or more than the billet. That would be great if you could drive it. V6 or V8? If Mark is around I feel certain he would show it to you. He's been low key and low pressure on the phone.

I bet the wait is killing you, but at least the end is in sight. I'm not looking forward to the wait that lies ahead for me. Actually a dealer about 15 miles from me just got a billet silver R/T in so I'm going to see about setting up a test drive. Unfortunately it has the polished/black pocket wheels instead of the standard gunmetal.

Then after I've made the final decision I'll contact Mark to order if I can't get my local dealer to work up a similar deal. Then the wait will being, although I would have been waiting this whole time as I'm leaning toward the DVD package.

The DVD wait has been killing me...thankfully now down to only one week before DVD production starts....assuming all goes according to plan...(please...let all go according to plan....where is the "pray" emoticon when you need one...)

Thanks, I had archived the message and have been going straight to the VOTS link. I didn't realize there would be a follow-up message and thought I was on my own for checking it every 5 minutes. I guess I'll only be checking every 20 minutes now! Should be getting close.

You kind of end up with the best of both worlds. You would have to wait anyway for the DVD *AND* you'll get the benefit of learning from the initial reports and our "should of, would of, and could of" experiences.

Re: 2014 Durango production

This may be in the category of things that interest only me. While my daughter and her husband didn't order (Navy people you may remember) I've been watching the deliveries to help them find a durango they want, specifically 2014 V6 Citadel, with certain options. Since the dodge inventory search is not online yet for 2014, I resorted to manually looking at the inventory of my region's Dodge dealers and also looking at cars.com and autotrader. While the numbers of Durangos of the V6 Citadel variety don't seem to be growing much, overall the inventory is building. On autotrader I looked yesterday and nationwide, there were 940 Durangos on lots or enroute, 715 of which were V6s and 69 being V6 Citadels. Just this morning, the number had jumped to 1049 Durangos, 811 of which were V6s and 71 V6 Citadels. And I assume this doesn't take into account any that have been ordered by customers. So the numbers are slowly increasing.

Also, I recall someone having trouble getting a St. Louis dealer to order a Durango. I find it kind interesting that virtually no St. Louis dealers have 2014 Durangos on their lots or enroute. They must have been really asleep at the wheel. However, I talked to one St. louis area dealer that said their 2014 Durangos were scheduled to go into production on September 24. Seems to me to be kinda slow, but maybe their philosophy is to order a whole bunch of 2013 to sell with rebates right at the end of the model year and then hold off on the 2014s until the initial rush gets over. But what do I know.

Re: 2014 Durango production

Stopped by the local dealer over the noon hour. I wanted to see what the invoice price was on a 2014 durango citadel speced out the way my daughter wants it including the rear entertainment package. I was looking at the order screen with the dealer and that option was nowhere listed. He looked at messages from dodge and there was a message that said you can't order that package now until the next "allocation" which he guessed would be in October for a November build.

We then went to search what other dealers have on order and we couldn't even search for the rear entertainment package. So I don't know how many are going to be built for dealer inventory, if they start building them next week as some have suggested. If anyone sees a V6 citadel with that rear entertainment package headed for production, or shipment to a dealer inventory, over the course of the next couple weeks, let me know. I'd appreciate it very much.

I don't recall how old the kids are, but has your daughter/son-in-law considered just getting tablets instead of the DVD? They're much more flexible and offer many more entertainment options.

I guess it depends on their ages, but price wise I think you come out ahead, and then you're not waiting for an allocation/build.

You're preaching to the choir, man. I've already had that conversation, but they want to wait to the last possible moment to see if they can get one with that package. Kids don't always listen to their parents.

I thought you said nothing was updated in MOTS yet?
