That's sure as heck what it sounds like. Fingers crossed for learning that's NOT the case as these fine folks pick up their rides over the next few days.

By the way, my dealer is not currently aware of these incentives

After an email exchange, my dealer confirms there is a $1,000 rebate available (and wasn't there yesterday). When I asked if I could finance and still be eligible for the rebate the reply was "oh absolutely."

No. It means you aren't allowed to get the rebate and their financing deal. One or the other....

I'm just a little frustrated and discouraged. This has been a long road. I think I wish we didn't have the dates... unless they were more inclined to overshoot rather than undershoot the projection. I just do the math in my head and then realize it's going to the exact same parking lot that Immo's is stuck in... 9/25 is fast approaching.

Not the end of the world. It's just a vehicle. I currently have one that I still love so it's all good. As long as I can tow by Winter, I'll be fine.

Re: 2014 Durango production

Well, picked up my new Bright White R/T today (complete with $1000 rebate) and it's pretty much everything I was hoping for. It looks simply stunning in person. Once I get the pics off my phone and can post them I will. The hyper black wheels are pretty sweet looking and I may stick with them.

The exhaust note of the Hemi in the R/T is fantastic. My wife isn't a car person and even she made a note of how good it sounded, although the word she used was "pretty"... like I said, she's not a car person so "rumble, throaty, powerful, roar" aren't really part of her vocabulary.

The interior is gorgeous and feels very high quality. The seats are a little on the stiff side right now, but they may conform a bit more over time.

Only issue I noted is that there's a bit of a shimmy at highway speeds, which I suspect (and hope) is from a tire out of balance.

All in all, I'm extremely happy as of right now.

Wishing good luck to Immo and others still waiting for theirs!

First, Congo Rats (quote stolen from someone in the diesel thread, thought it was funny as hell). Hopefully it's just a balance issue as you say otherwise it can be a long drawn out process. I've only driven up to 60 so far and the tracking is perfect with no shimmy. Hope it holds out at higher speeds.

Wish I had the V8 rumble but I was pleasantly surprised the V6 had a little baby rumble too, was not expecting that.

Congrats!!

After having read many of the JGC threads, my impression is that the Goodyear Fortera tires are hit and miss. You might get a set of tires that no matter how they are balanced...there is still some shimmy. (Indeed, I test-drove a JGC a month or so ago, and it too had a shimmy at highway speeds.)

I would bring it to their attention right away...ultimately if a balancing doesn't take care of it, they may swap the tires out with a JGC or other Durango sitting on the lot....

I have Fortera Triple Treads on my Denali. Great tires, but one has always failed to maintain pressure as consistently as the other three since they were new (have about 50k miles on them now). That experience might be grist for the mill that they're hit or miss.

One of the reasons I stuck with the 18s for our Limited build - I think the Michelin might be a slightly better tire.

That's great news. I'm glad you got it and the $1000. Hopefully you get a quick resolution on the shimmy. Thanks for the report and enjoy that sweet rumble!

Ha, I just noticed on my Monroney (window sticker) at the top it says "This vehicle was specially built for (my name)".

Pretty cool, right?

My dealer asked me what name to put the order under just for that reason. Good thing I was smart enough to have them change it from mine to my wife's since its her truck.

The name shows in VOTS too.
