MOTS doesnt update through the build phase. He will update it after its built. The build stage is just to fluid to post updates and moves rather quickly.

Re: 2014 Durango production

So, after yesterday's test drive of the Durango again we're going to order a 2014.

I think the difference in price won out over 7th seat and dual pane sunroof.

I'm just waiting for my wife to pick a color and interior. I wound up sending her links from a dealer's website of Jeep GC in the same colors available on the Durango.

Hoping to put this to bed on Monday or Tuesday with Century.

How long is the estimated delivery time looking now? Four weeks?

That's great news! I think she'll be really pleased. I'm hoping we start seeing some actual pictures within the next week. That should help pacify this waiting period!

Most of the '14 Durango colors are also available on the '13 Durangos as well. I think there are only a couple exceptions. the gold / beige exterior paint was not available in 2013, but you can see that color on the Jeep GC. Also, sometime in 13, the "gray" color changed from"mineral gray" to Crystal granite. so if you see a gray Durango and are trying to decide if you like it' make sure you know which color you're looking at.

as for interior color, I had a heck of a time tracking down a citadel with light frost beige interior so I could see what it looked like. I was glad I did though. My wife was not thrilled with the look of the tan interior and preferred the light frost better. Almost all citadels on the local lots had either black or tan interiors.

I'm in Paint! I'm gonna need a new mouse after all this checking. Hope the JNAP boys are refreshed and chipper after the long weekend.

Re: 2014 Durango production

So we're down to color decision.

Of course pictures on the internet don't help especially when the three colors are "close".

We're down to
True Blue
Maximum Steel
Granite Crystal

so its off to the local Jeep dealer (which appears to have a GC in each color) to see them in person. Now the question is - how to wander the lot without being accosted...

We can try to go after hours, but the sun is down before that which leaves early morning before they open...

Re: 2014 Durango production

My wife and I debated those exact same colors. Funny, I even remember having the discussion about how to compare in bright daylight.

There is no way to avoid being accosted by the dealer, so we made them earn their money. We asked them to pull up three JGC's with these colors so we could make our decision.

For what it's worth, my wife and I found picking the right interior color to be every bit as tricky as getting the right exterior. If you want a black interior, no problems. But if you want light frost or tan, as we did, you will find only some combinations work. This is where the comparisions got tough. We could not find any durangos or JGC's with light frost, and only a few with tan.

Except the dealer we'd use to look at colors...not the same one from whom we're buying from...

Agreed. Its to bad they're not offering the red on the Limited. I think that with Frost would be a slam dunk. My wife doesn't like grey/tan mixes, so that might mean True Blue with Frost, or one of the others with black...

Re: 2014 Durango production

I went to a couple different dealers when looking at colors and I was just up-front with them. Told them I had already placed an order with a different but just wanted to see some colors so I would be looking around the lot. I didn't want to take their time, though I did need them to get the keys if I was looking at interior.

I did use Dodge's new car inventory search to locate specific cars first. It was nearly impossible to find a Durango Citadel in Crystal Granite. But I eventually did. (Wanted to see how that color played with the "chrome" on the citadel trim).

You're right...finding light frost beige interior is another tough one. Black and tan are easy to find.

You may want to check out the colors (especially since they are all metallic) in different light. I went one day when it was bright sunshine, and another day at dusk / flat light.

We ended up going with a color combination that we never saw put together on one vehicle: Crystal Granite and light frost beige. We must had odd taste. We've had both silver with beige and black with before though, so we figured gray would still work OK. We'll see.
