That's basically my take on it. If I don't see movement on any of ours by Friday, Oct, 11...I'm going back into "pessimistic" mode and assuming delivery won't be until about Christmas.

Re: 2014 Durango production

Just to throw a little more info / confusion out there:

Donlen still says that Durango DVD Production starts as of October 1. However, it has a strange listing for Jeep Grand Cherokee with respect to the DVD: (You have to look under Chrysler Trucks to find Jeep info):

a) Production ended on 10/1 for Rear DVD.
b) Production starts on 11/18 for Rear DVD.

So, the optimist in me says that Chrysler is going to be able to squeak out the relatively few Durango DVD orders already in the production queue this month, while pushing off JGC production until November. This would explain the somewhat conflicting info that Milous has received on this and passed along to us.

The pessimist in me says all DVD production is on hold until November 18th...or later.

Thanks for the heads-up. The exterior Citadel picture was Photoshopped incorrectly because it now includes Chrome mesh below the front grill and there is only one exhaust instead of two. I see they made some corrections to the comparison tables from this morning. Overall nice marketing job.

I noticed that myself. I was wondering if maybe the Citadel without the technology package might come with the chrome mesh below. You'll notice in some shots (like the "cover" photo of the citadel when you first go to the 2014 Durango section), it shows the black mesh lower with the cruise control "eye". Other Citadel shots that show the chrome mesh there is no advanced cruise control "eye" present.

So far I've seen it consistent: Black mesh with the eye, chrome mesh without the eye.

Which got me to wondering if the reflective nature of the chrome finish might interfere in some way with the ACC, necessitating black / matte finish if you have the tech package (which includes ACC).

Or...they just goofed...and shouldn't be showing a citadel with chrome mesh lower at all.

The cynic in me thinks Chrysler/Dodge decided to come out with a limited run of the Rear Entertainment System so they would not have to add a footnote to their marketing of late availability, since the Rear Entertainment System is being hyped in their marketing efforts. I also wonder if it's not only a supplier issue but also difficulties with the electronics implementation to UConnect and the new electrical architecture (given recent Jeep recall relating to this electrical architecture). Ford still has not gotten their entertainment system to work with their buggy MyFordTouch - their DVDs are not inputted through the sound system but though sad FM radio modulation. ...Let's be optimistic for another week.

That's a really interesting point that I had not thought about. I believe the system is SONAR in the back so that should not be affected. Really fascinating if ACC was impacted by chrome finish because how do you compensate for other issues. Hmm?

Looks like they also similarly goofed on the SXT Plus with Rallye trim. That selection seems to show a chrome grill and a chrome fascia. I thought that the Rallye trim is supposed to have a body-color grill and fascia. I'm hoping that someone in website design just got the grills/fascias wrong as I'd prefer a dark or body-colored fascia on the Citadel.

Might I suggest doing a search on Cars.com? There are dealer pictures from almost every angle of every model with these options. Probably easier then trying to guess from mocked up photos on the Dodge.com website

This links should be national, 2014 Citadels
New Dodge Durango Citadel - in 08055 - on Cars.com

Good point. I knew these dealers who never responded to my price quote inquires (& there were a lot of them) were good for something .

Re: 2014 Durango production

This was on Dodge's main page for the Durango, the tag line really cracked me up. "Built to raise hell and children of character".
