Ya, I remember signing something that I would take delivery within 3 days, not sure if that was the dealer paperwork or Chrysler. In any event the dealer said if I was on vacation or something it would not be a big deal to take it later. I wish I would have asked what would happen if I refused, I don't think they had a torture chamber in their dungeon but I thought I heard screams. Must have been a crd customer.

Thanks, I didn't know current rebate expires November 4; looks like we should make that time frame.

It is surprising that they would discount the rebates even moreso for a just released model refresh but this segment is so competitive. Well the Durango has gone primetime and has gotten fantastic press already with the Will Ferrell ads. I guess the full market press is essential now for the future viability.

Too bad Dealers don't sell options on manufacturer promotions. It would be an active market for consumers to lock-in deals on ordered vehicles with the ability to forego current promotions for future promotions for some minimal cost. Sure there would be arbitrage opportunities but consumers would be the ultimate beneficiaries and dealers may get increased business.

Side note...I emailed my dealer last week and he said he was not expecting delivery until after Halloween. Based on what I'm seeing with MOTS though, I'm putting delivery to the dealer more like Oct 28 if not sooner. Having said that...my dealer mentioned that it is possible the chryco my increase the rebates next month (I think current ones expire Nov 4th), so he kinda implied it would be best to wait until then to take delivery.

You're not going to beat 0% financing which you give up by taking the rebate. I doubt they will give a bigger rebate than the $1K already offered. If they do, I can''t imagine it being more than $1.5K. This is a brand new refreshed model in it's second month of shipping, and they are still difficult to find when you factor in specific trims and feature sets. I hope you get yours soon and at a great deal!

Not yet posted that we are on the railcar but we are in the railyard in New Boston. Our vehicles must be right next to each other: SJNYC @9:20, JoeyD@9:22 and Parsec@9:23. Your JoeyE Black Durango flew through this process; it'll be at your dealer soon.

Agreed...still $500 is $500. That'll pay for a decent portion of the extended service contract I plan on purchasing. My D should be hitting the rails today...then 3 days to Twin Oaks, then another 2-3 for the car carrier to reach my dealer. So I'm looking at about maybe 1 week from when my dealer gets it, to Nov 4th.

If I'm lucky, I can perhaps do my own inspection of the vehicle, and then during that week have the dealer take care of any issues I find...and then take delivery on Nov 4th / 5th. I've waited this long, I can hold out another 5 days or so for the possibility of maybe another $500.

Yeah...to be honest, I'm surprised there are any rebates at all at this time.

The typical time I've seen it take between being "received" at New Boston, and loaded on a rail car around 12 hrs, but I have seen cases where it has taken several days.

The black one left Connellsville last night...at that point, it's fairly predictable that it will be unloaded at the destination (Twin Oaks) about 24-36 hrs after that. So I fully expect by Monday morning the black one will be sitting in the Twin Oaks yard waiting on a carrier...

Re: 2014 Durango production

...and there we go! We've been released from industry and are on a rail car waiting to depart. Shouldn't be much to stop it now. Should make it to Twin Oaks by Wednesday. (That's where mine is heading, anyway. )

My black one made it to twin Oaks and is just waiting to be unloaded.

I did a quick calculation and determined the breakeven point for a purchase of $44,450 with 10% down and an interest discount rate of 2.5% and found that $1500 cash back is nearly equivalent to 0% for 3 years. Of course if you can reinvest above a return of 2.5% then the 0% loan is certainly a better offer. And oppositely if you are spending less on your purchase than $44,450 then $1500 cash back is more attractive. The current $1000 offer is definitely not worthwhile unless buying an SXT.

Yes!

Mine is heading to Long Island, NY but I assume some rail stop in New Jersey. We may be on different railcars since yours made it on this morning, while I and SJNYC are on the afternoon railcar.

So will we get it around Halloween? I might have to change plans and make the trek to the dealer ahead of time. At this point, unless we are going to see a promotion discount way above $1500 (i can't image that on our refresh at this time), I am going with 0% financing (assume rate not getting better).
